I know.

It looks like an awesome feature. Only thing I'm thinking about is that the prices for XBL will probably be increased. It's not like Microsoft to give it away for free like that.

yeah that's what I heard also - the prices for Xbox Live will stay the same, but if you want to use the sky player, you will need to pay sky, unless you already have a sky TV subscription.

For non-sky customers I'm assuming it will work the same way as the PC version of sky player that already exists. For that, you can either pay a monthly subscription, which gives you live TV channels + free on-demand content from those. Or you can just watch on-demand content and pay-per-view.

The prices for the PC version are high, the cheapest package is £15 a month from what I can see, hopefully they will be able to bring out some cheaper packages for the xbox version for people who don't have sky.

I already have a Sky subscription so I personally will be expecting to pay very little or nothing for this service on my xbox.

Looks the part tho, what with watching sports events in parties etc etc./

If you are a member of Sky but do not have a Sky Sports subscription, you will probably have to buy it.

If it doesnt cost too much just to watch sky sports for a few games this season then it looks good.

Its not profitable to just make a console purely for games now. if you want that, go buy a Wii.

What Microsoft is doing is bringing the full home entertainment ackage for the WHOLE family into one box, end of the day this will make things cheaper overall for potential new customers and existing users.

Yeah, my Dad, Sister and Me use it for gaming... But... My mum uses it for music and films. It's great that the whole family, including my technophobe mother, can use it for what they need.

lalalala no. If you're a real gamer the Wii is rubbish, almost all of the games are aimed at "families" (see: children) and contain nothing but shallow gameplay and stupid gimmicks (shake the Wiimote as fast as you can! OMG!).

If you want proper games, a 360/PS3 is your only console option. (I have all 3)

I'm looking forwards to the Sky 360 app, I love the cinema-esque way to watch a match on Sky Sports. I've also heard it's going to be free for Sky subscribers, so I'm sorted.

The Wii isn't a rubbish console, just because it's aimed at family play.

It's a good console I think, it obviously doesn't come close to the two others. But still, it's very popular.

I prefer the Wii for shooting games single-player - using the Wii Zapper

I wasn't saying it's a rubbish system, I was saying it was rubbish for a hardcore gamer. If you're a casual its fantastic, but if you're not then its impossible to have one as your only console because it doesn't have the games.

This is just my opinion, and as I said I own all three consoles, but I can't help but get lalalalaed off with the Wii developers for aiming almost every game at casual fans and having very few good games for actual gamers (like me).

There are plenty of horror games out on the the wii that may be classed as "hard core" in your books. Don't Judge a console by its stereo types, even if you just "happen" () to own it.
