Is it confirmed that it will be free for those already with a Sky subscription?

I ask this because having Sky on the X360 would be equivalent to having Sky Multiroom (a Sky box in each room), would it not? Sky Multiroom, I believe, costs extra (per box), albeit slightly less than a normal subscription (per extra box) because you've already got at least one Sky box.

Havent seen any pricing details yet. Which is unusual considering its due for release this month or next month.

Taken from Xbox 360 deal with Sky confirmed | Gaming Industry | MCV

Existing Sky customers will be able to use their accounts to access content via the console. The service will be bolstered by a number of interactive additions, such as sports leader boards and messaging.
Yes, i know thats not concrete evidence. I think more about it is expected to be released soon such as what channels etc.

I just remember seeing something saying excisting Sky customers will be able to use their subscription to watch. Might have been on a SentUAMessage program

Maybe they're going to keep the hype up and let people say how amazing it's going to be, release the update and then let everybody find out the extortionate price of the service...

... or it's possible that the price is still being discussed (unlikely), or that the service won't be available until later than expected...

That was said in the quote you posted...

I might e reading too mcuh into the quote, but it only says 'Sky customers will be able to use their accounts to watch' but it does not say 'at no extra charge'...

But in all seriousness, the Wii has some fantastic games (and PES is far more entertaining on the system), just not enough of them.

This seems to suggest that it's for free (but doesn't explicitly say so):

Message received good sir.

I think it's going to be free for current subscribers, I mean, who would honestly pay extra for this service if they already had a Sky box? I know I wouldn't.

That's what I thought too, but Sky do currently charge to use the PC version of sky player, at least to watch stuff broadcast live. As far as I can tell it's £9.75 a month unless you already have multiroom or the top broadband package. And even more expensive for people who don't have sky.

Looks like many on-demand programmes are free for all sky subscribers though.

The BBC News article from back when this was announced doesn't really say much either:

Sky's commercial group director Stephen Nuttall hinted there could be deals for some current Sky subscribers.

Sky customers who have subscribed to premium content packages, or have multiple set-top boxes or one of the bigger broadband packages could get content via their Xbox at a reduced cost.
They mention "deals" and "reduced cost" which sounds like you have to pay for it... but then there is always some paid content on sky player (older archived programmes and films) so they could be talking about that.

Sky TV arriving on Xbox 360 in mid-October according to SkyMag; Twitter, Facebook & Zune to follow?

Sky TV arriving on Xbox 360 in mid-October according to SkyMag; Twitter, Facebook & Zune to follow?

by Richard Lawler posted Sep 26th 2009 at 7:07PM
Live Sky TV viewing via Xbox 360 didn't make it into the most recent dashboard update, readers report page 17 of the network's most recent SkyMag indicates it will arrive around mid-October. Additional details flesh out what's available, while all Xbox Live Gold members (in the appropriate areas) will get access to the Sky Player similar to the PC implementation, you will need a Sky subscription with the appropriate channels to view sports and movie content. Look out for more updates at the skyplayer.com/xbox360 site, while those of us beyond the network's reach wonder whether we can expect other features like Twitter (you're following us, right?) Facebook and 1080p instant-on movie streaming to arrive at roughly the same time.

Nice work, I'd expect Facebook, Twitter and Last.fm to be available before the Xmas period to further help sales of the 360 in the run up to Xmas.

Yeah, but SKY do make you pay extra for "multiroom" which enables you to watch a different sky channel with a different box on a different TV; basically what you'd do with the Xbox, so there's a chance there will still be a fee.

Alternatively, SKY'll just limit the service massively, maybe only giving you their anytime TV shows or something, and we can all probably forget the Sky+ wonders such as recording and rewinding.

Microsoft might actually be generous and make it free aslong as you have the Gold subscription. Stranger things have happened

Here is the details page on Xbox.com and it would seem to imply that you need Gold plus a Sky TV or SkyPlayer subscription and that, at no further cost, you are able to watch live or on-demand TV programmes...
At least it confirms the release date as 'Autumn 2009'.

Thats ok because I have both Gold and Sky Multiroom. I'm not too bothered about it considering I have Sky+ in my bedroom.

The sun is now setting a 7pm. I say we are officially in Autumn, and since that lasts 2 weeks cuz UK weather is mostly rubbilalalala MUST be out in less than 2 weeks or they will have lied and its a Winter release.

I challenge anyone to find flaws in that logic

As Rohannnn says, the date is confirmed as 27th October.
Here.

It also says that pricing will be announced on that day.

Does this mean the big Dashboard update is on the 27th as well?

And why release pricing on the day?
