Yeah, I know these kind of films normally end up sucking, but which one are you most excited about?
Release dates are from IMDB and Wikipedia so they're not definite. I'm personally waiting for Silent Hill 2 and the Halo movie. |

Not Prince of Persia *cough*
Kane and Lynch is a terrible game, yet would probably make the best adaptation to a hollywood movie if you think about it. Bioshock has potential, depending on who directs. I just can't see the others do well, or make that transition. Silent Hill was basically explained and milked in the first one, so I can't see how they would a second one seem fresh (although if it were based on Silent Hill 3 or 4 then maybe it's possible). That's the beauty of games, it's near impossible to capture the same magic that you had playing on a console with a controller for hours and hours - onto the theatre screen for 90-120 minutes. Gaming movies will more or less always be worse than their original medium.

Shadow of the Colossus would be really cool if it was some sort of epic, rather than an action film.
Sadly they'll probably make it as Hollywood as possible with big shot directors who will CGI the whole movie (I'm okay with a little bit of CGI, I mean.. how else would they make the monsters? ). And star some crappy actor who is popular at the time and his on-screen lover Megan Fox!Oooh, the screenwriter who worked with the amazing Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li will be part of it!

I voted Gears, but it would have to be Gears 2. It has the best mix of hollywood storyline (simple but with a twist) and 'splosions. Plus at every chapter there was a new character/story development, it wasn't just blindly shoot at the ugly thing. The last Mortal Kombat film sucked, I thought, so... that one vote over there...
