Anyway, PES is diabolical online, that much as a dead cert. It has got nothing on Fifa for online playability. Offline its generally too easy. Master League is extremely poor, the game itself plays too quickly and the gameplay still encourages a cutbacks-only style of play. Graphically I quite like it, but others dont. Matter of opinion. It lacks a fair few licences - the whole Premier league most notably. You can dribble past a whole team flat out sprinting with your centre back though, if it floats your boat. I was impressed by PES when it came out, played it a lot and tolerated the abysmal online mode ... then I got a PS3 and Fifa and came to the realisation that this year, PES is 2nd best. I dont think its even a matter of opinion this year. You would have to be utterly deranged if you think PES offers a better package than fifa. (This hasnt been the cast before this year.) Also, bear in mind that my views on PES are from the PC version. I have a pretty much top PC that runs the game flawlesly. This cannot be said for Xbox360 and PS3 versions, which suffer from loss of detail (thanks to the new patch) and extreme frame rate problems. |

Best thing to do is try the demo or rent the game.

I've played both FIFA 08 and PES 2008 on both PS2 and Xbox 360 and from what I found, PES is better than FIFA on the PS2 but when it comes to next-gen gaming, FIFA 08 completely obliterates PES 2008
Current Gen If you're playing Current Gen, you'll find Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 to be very much like PES 6. There aren't many noticable differences apart from the menus and player appearences. The ability to create boots has also gone, as well as the long list of of 'Special Hairstyles'. You'll now only find around 15 'Special hairsyles' available. Some of the player appearences are also quite shoddy, for example Van Der Sar The graphics are also almost identical to PES 6 ![]() In terms of gamplay, it runs very smoothly and freely. Master League isn't at the same standards as FIFA's manager mode though. Next Gen Next Gen PES is actually very good, but lacks the enjoyment of FIFA. The graphics are absolutely amazing though ![]() Unlike in FIFA, you can zoom extremely close in on the player and even see their pours! and sweat for that matter ![]() But what Next Gen PES does lack is a good online mode. The connection is always really poor. Each match is almost unplayable and it's better to just stick to Master League. Last edited by Sumo; 25-01-2008 at 04:43 PM. |

It depends on which console you have. Personally I prefer nextgen FIFA to nextgen PES, but PES is a better PS2 game than FIFA
You can play in penguin suits in PES, and you can have players on ostrichback aswell |
