Problem with controller, please help

I just bought a new controller...it's an apollo, so it's not actually on the "official supported controllers" list for uefa 08. But all the controls work...left analog and the buttons work fine, except for one particular control: the damn Trick button. I read that, by default it's the 9 button, or the lower button on the left back side of the controller...but mine is set up to function like "escape"...furthermore, my right analog is not functioning at all, due to the fact that i must press that non-working button to activate tricks...i can't change the mapping for "escape" through in-game options so, What can i do?
