Ranking points

Question for EA or anyone else that may know: I had read that in UEFA 2008 if you play with a low ranked team against a high ranked team you get more ranking points in online games. In other words, if I play with San Marino against France and win I would get say 50 points vs. winning with Italy against France and getting say 30 points (assuming the opponent's ranking points are the same in each case). Is this true? I'm on xbox 360 if that matters.

It doesn't seem to have any bigger bearing on the ranked points system than FIFA 08, if anything they are more or less the same, and thats really dissapointing, yet again.

I could be wrong though, there are far too many things now in EURO to be keeping track of, such as level rank, rank points, XP points, the "Battle of the Nations" points... can someone clarify?

it only counts towards battle of the nations i think, coz if u win the online cup with france, u get 200 points but if you win with san marino u get 2,700 points

well i use either montenegro or spain and there doesnt seem to be much difference in rank points

Not much difference either in FIFA 08 between beating a 5* team with a 1* team and beating a 5* team with a 5* team. Surely EA could have adjusted this for EURO 2008 following on FIFA....

...but of course not, why would they?! For as long as this krap continues, nobody will ever be encouraged to pick weak teams. They might as well scrap all weak teams from online play as a result!

the ea staff for fifa must all be barca fans and the uefa staff must all be french or portuguese fans

Thanks for the feedback guys. This is rather disappointing. It seems like such an easy fix as they actually made this work for the knockout tournaments. Unfortunately, vast majority of the online players could care less about Battle of the Nations points -its way too confusing to keep track anyway- and they are mostly concerned about their own ranking points. No wonder why everyone is playing with 4-5 star teams in online ranked games. There is no motivation to play with lower ranked games once again.
