It would be nice, if you could watch an online game of friends (just like the Gotham TV-option in Project Gotham Racing).

To be honest i would just see this game as a rental option, i wont go out and spend 30 to 40 pound on a game for 1 tournament. Ok you got the be a captain mode and the online play will give it more longlivity but to be honest im sticking with fifa 08, The only annoying thing i have with fifa 08 and i found it with the demo is why oh why if u hit the pass button then run for the ball u hit the shoot button why does it not cancel out the first press u done so instead of shooting it passes??

EA does strike me as having horrible servers. I haven't had a single issue with any other online game. However, on FIFA, I tend to get a disconnect randomly from time to time.

i just bought uefa euro 2008. im from northern ireland and was shocked at some of the discoveries in your game. first of all northern irelands national anthem is not 'danny boy'. now for the worst part. when i was playing with ni and finished match at the end of match screen it started playing 'the soldiers song' which is the republic of irelands national anthem. just to let you know northern ireland is still british and not all ireland. the national anthem is 'god save the queen'. where do u get your information on football from because whoever it is has never been to a northern ireland match. god save the queen is always played as our national anthem. as for the soldier song being played at end of match menu i was left disgusted. so northern ireland has no identity now i suppose.

yours

very disappointed gamer

I'm sort of vaguely disappointed with the game. I'm on a PS3 so can't comment about any other platform. I thought the demo was really sharp and while it wasn't perfect, it was largely a step forward in many aspects. Ironically the things I thought would change haven't eg:

The fact that the players always appear on screen a split second after the background and issues with the frame rate and slowdown (similar to PES2008's problems) making it, while not unplayable, very annoying, since often when teams come to depend they have a 9 man defence, triggering the frame rate issues again and again.

And some of the things I liked such as the overall sharpness of the game seem to have got worse. Granted it is much more responsive than Fifa 08 it has more options in terms of playing conditions etc. But:

editing squads never works and they reset randomly - worse than FIFA 08 which at least let you set the alloted subs before going haywire.

Player ratings. How can someone score a hat-trick in a game and still get worse.

It might help if the manual was more conclusive. as opposed to the bare minimum, assuming that everyone who buys the game already knows it inside out. Is there anywhere online that give a more in depth rundown of the game?

Online Career/Captain your country not just offline lalala friends.
If the next fifa game does not have a feature like that I wont be buying it.

Ref and linesman on the pitch.. For a next gen game and not seeing the officials is stupid

When was the last time you seen a big **** puddle on a top notch football pitch?

Please fix the tackling issue its so hard to tackle opposition players even small teams turn and twist and hold the ball in a totally unrealistic way. Going forward the games a vast improvement but defending against even small teams like Liechtenstein is a nightmare at times as they hold the ball so well.
The smaller nations Minnows with one star or two are far too good and hard to beat ive beat teams like Italy or Spain only to loose to Malta in the next game. More balance here please.
Nothing ever seems to come from corners the opposition always seem to clear the ball away.

Northern Irelands Anthem is the same as Englands "God save the Queen" not Danny boy.

Can a patch fix these issues if so can we have one please.

The more I play, the more frame rate issues seem to appear (PS3). I've just played a friendly with England against the Czech Republic and for large parts of the game it was near impossible because it was like watching in what I can only describe as "Jelly-Vision". It was as though the cameraman never knew where the ball was and was either playing catch up or just had a very bad case of the shakes.

Anyone else have this problem? It seems to appear mainly in rainy weather for me

Totally agree with the officials being on the pitch, one thing PES has right. Also that means you don't have to always go to a cut scene for a caution (booking) and it gives the option to put quick free kicks into the game.

There also seems to be a large element of cpu predetermination in the game. I just played as England at home to Estonia. I could almost ignore that they were faster, sharper, stronger and as part-timers, had more stamina. What I found harder to take was the fact that, as a game I was clearly supposed to lose drew towards the end still at 0-0, 9 of my players decided that they would not move out of my area, under any circumstances. If one player broke with the ball no-one would move upfield with him so that the opponents (getting faster and slicker by the minute) just kept coming back. Even when my keeper caught the ball 9 of my players just stood still in the area and wouldn't move. I thought the game had crashed but it hadn't. It had just decided that I was not going to be able to attack.

Default Demo Feedback

Thank you for finally "hit x to watch replay" option. This now appears after you score a goal, you can press X to shortcut into the various replay options, instead of having to pause, scroll down to Instant Replay. Thank you for adding this, please keep it in Fifa 09

I love the celebration mode, but the 300 different types are somewhat daunting, I'd be okay with a simpler version. Addition, you may want to have a 'on/off' feature for players who are bothered by it.

I like the extra speed.

The corner are difficult to take, the zoomed out view is perplexing.

France is way to fast, Anelka is a clinical finisher, but hardly the record breaking Olympian you've made him out to be.

I'm not sure if its in the full version (if not, hopefully in Fifa 09), you'll extend the partnership with Weather.com to provide real-time weather. This feature is available in NCAA 08 and Madden 08. As an American, I have absolutely no idea what the weather is Europe and this would definitely add a great element of realism.

I forgot to add:
You need to tone down the player's expression when they're subsituted, they're always angry and upset.

I want the speed of final game and the response from DEMO

Does anyone agree?

Slowdown (20fps) when the ball crosses the goal line..makes scoring a goal an anti climax!! improve framerate!!

On the fly substitutions...(World cup 2006..i know it was a disgrace!) get rid of the menu system..a menu system opens while your playing that allows you to make a sub during a cutscence...all that coming out of the game etc..ruins the experience!

look at GTaA 4s mobile phone for inspiration..totally possible and completely immersive!

it's been mentioned but I'll say it again: the puddles look weird on the demo, do we really need them? Why does it have to be a deluge, why not a little light rain?

AT THE START DOES HE NOT STATE HE IS GOING TO TALK ABOUT DISLIKES RATHER THAN LIKES? IF IT WAS NOT NEGATIVE THEN SURELY HE WOULD HAVE NO DISLIKES?

from what i have read, some people like the cutscenes, whereas others despise them.
the sensible solution would to create an option that allows cutscenes, or disallows them.

and you are saying that you cant do that anyway on FIFA 08.
when i cba, i just turn towards their net from kick-off, flick it over the first players head and leather it.

That might be a mindset thing like it being more difficult to beat Derby because you think it will be easy, but you always go for the spectacular goal

thankyou for vreating more game modes though EA, it has increased the lifetime of the game substantially.

instead of just playing through the qualifying, the tournament then finish, some thought has actually gone into how to expand (CYC, BoTN etc.).

sorry for quadruple post guys!

I just conceded a goal because the other teams striker was right in front of my goal keeper as he kicked the ball for a goal kick.
