In Fifa if you increase the difficulty that will not happen. But since the demo is providing what it has...and that's all I can judge on...the demo has serious flaws especially if it is a much newer game...it should provide improvements...but the majority of the problems I see are nothing but steps backwards.

Graphically

AI Wise

Cut Scene Frame Drops

Dodgy Player Animations

These are just to name a few...so if someone's opinions are different from yours it doesn't mean they are being negative...maybe there is substance in those claims.

Create a new account just to post this statement?

Since you drew the comparision:

No, you can't literally walk down the field in FIFA 08' on semi-Pro. Yes, you can literally walk down the field in EURO 08' on semi-Pro.

In of that argument, period.

I was going to download this demo but as per comments on here I'll hold off I think and wait for opinions on the full thing when it comes out.

Why would you not download the demo? This way, you can create an opinion of your own.

For one I don't like demos, I know peoples reviews can get a bit fuzzy at times but I would rather put more faith in that, I have an a ps3 as well and will wait for an opinion for that. My main reason is though I downloaded a demo for a PC game a while ago now and a virus was attached and I lost a few files because of that and I suppose ever since that I haven't got the urge to try another.

The only demos I have tried recently are ps3 ones.

I agree the commentary is a bit lame some times especially in fifa 08 the commentators (PS3) Gray and Tyler can't even mention your own team but say something daft like "one of these teams is dominating" but on the two legged thing they do mention the 1st leg on the ps3 version.

I can't remember the exact words but at the begining of the second leg they start talking about the match and briefly state what happened in the first match.

EA:

Upon your first patch, please provide the Be A Pro camera view for all features in the game. There is a substantial crowd of us that prefer the view. I see no reason why it isn't offered along with the other camera views, regardless of what game mode you're playing in.

Sincerely a big disappointment that I didn't see it in the DEMO & the reason I won't be purchasing the game if it's failed to be offered in the game, now or in the future.

Let's hope you don't follow this oversight or poor move with the making of FIFA 09.

The biggest downside is the lack of 5vs5 - or at least 2vs2. That's really a shame and three friends of mine won't buy it because it's not in the game and stick to FIFA08 when playing against each other.

i thought so too, i already deleted my demo of pes 2008 and probably will do the same for eufa, why should anyone buy this game when you can set up the same tournament in fifa 08??? i'm not asking to be rude, i really would like to know why i should shell out the cash, i don't see any improvements form fifa 08, if anything i see it as a very limited copy of fifa.

Yeah the animation took a step back, its clear to my eyes that they had less time to develop the game.

Well, in my opinion there is a big improvement in gameplay. Yesterday I played some hours Euro08 and some hours FIFA08 with some friends. And after playing Euro08 I could hardly play FIFA. There are lot more bugs in it and especially the player momentum, the through-passes and the positional play have been vastly improved in Euro08.

I agree the game play got a big improvement, still there are some missing things from fifa08: i will not repeat again what i am talking about, we all know, lets hope in a patch in the near future.

You're right.. according to your last post it only seemed like you didn't see any improvements at all.

Yeah ofc the game is better than fifa08 hehe, but dont get me wrong when i say that focus only on gameplay removing some great features like Be a pro camera and 5vs5 is a big mistake.

I am a fan of pes series too, and i saw konami programmers did the same mistake in the past, they added some good features and removed it in the next chapter adding some other stuff, they never created a game with ALL the good features together and i dont see why they were so blind ..

Default Demo is better than 08, but not by much...good try tho

I love the fact that you can see the managers, but again i don't like cutscenes either. The should be able to flow within the game.Where are the manager, technical staff and subs during the game? Still no players warming up if waiting for a substitution.

Rain effects, not bad...but in replays or end of game highlights, all the splashes and stuff disappear....so if i save a replay, i wont be able to see the glorious splashes after i rocket a ball off the far post?

No improvements to player kits from 08, they actually look worst. They are just too wrinkled...all the time. You guys should just go to a new kit animation system, where the cloth actually contorts to players movements instead of just animating 'wrinkle shadows' on flat jerseys.

Player faces are more realistic.

I don't get the celebrate yourself thing, while a good idea...if you don't do it right, and the player is just running for a bit....then they stop to do their celebration you put in with the trick stick....then they still show a cut scene with you doin another kinda celebration with your mates?....When its time to celebrate, and we run off in our direction, let the player be celebrating with his friends, they should run off to and be trying to hold him or something until he stops to d the animated thing

The crowd is still dead. People don't really sit down, all game long...when there's a goal, they get up and jump around...more flags, or banners..but let them respond. And if you want to make me doing my own celebration more realistic...when i run to the touchline...let the crowd nearest there be the most animated reacting to me, as i'm celebrating with them, my fans!

The commentary is still sucky, a little bit more up beat that 08 i must say, but still incorrect...which does nothing but remind you that its a game.

Gameplay seemed ok, no complaints, but it isn't much better than 08...so hopefully all these points listed by final release can be sorted out, or atleast in 09

Default full game, not the demo

The A.I. in this game is lalalalalalaed. It's as if I'm expected to control all 11 players by myself. No matter what i do my full backs will wander infield and get caught out. And what is the point in the "pressure" button when the player you are using to apply the pressure does nothing, he just wanders up to the player and is beaten with ease.

And why is it harder to beat Cyprus than it is Germany? Now this isn't a one off thing, I've used Ireland against both now at least 5 times.

The passing was way more accurate in the demo too.

Note to developers. Not everyone wants to spend 90 minutes each game. I appreciate your trying to make it as life like as possible but where the fun when it ****ing impossible to take the ball off your opponent. It is ridiculous.

Man, i seriously hope Pro Evo come out with something decent this year.
