TW09 PS2 can't be a real game can it?

Just bought my first golf game since TW09 (also on PS2) and i have to say it ... sucks. The graphics have barely improved, the fun, fictional courses have dissapeared, there seem to be almost no game modes left, putting is a nightmare, 2/3 click is awful, the soundtrack is terrible, the proshop + gameface have gotten worse, there are barely any statistics and challenges, golf digest is ridiculous ... did i mention that there seem to be no more game modes? - seriously it's more like a demo than a full game ... the positives? the commentary and, uh ... more players maybe (although all the quirky, fictional ones have gone)

Is there a reason why this game has gotten so bad? ... last time i checked they were improving the game every year (tiger vision, legendary players etc.) ... when did they start killing the game?

* Have I not been paying attention or is there more o do in the game except for PGA Tour, Play Now and EA Cup? ... even any new/different features since 04? anything? anything at all?
