Default Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 on the Wii

In Game Graphics.
Not bad. But why don't we see the cheering crowd?
I'd particularly like to drive a ball into the comentator from time to time or just hit him with my 2 iron.

Sound.
Again, not bad. However, it is a bit poppy between some samples.

Gameplay.

Gameface - Character creation.
It is almost impossible to create a character that does not have an asian look about him. The eyes need attention. On the game, I look like I have some asian ancestry. I am a mongrel Brit but there hasn't been any asian genes in my line for well over a thousand years.
I can only create 4 characters. Some of us have more than 3 friends or family members.
Skipping over the attribute being created with the pointer, forehead, ears etc. causes the attribute to be changed to the next/previous attribute too quickly. Makes editing a longer process than it should be.
The length of hair should go from bald to long but it only has a mid range coverage.

Training.
Only training in standing Right handed is covered. I use the sitting controls, partly because I'm lazy and partly because I achieve much better results.
A practice area on Driving, Chipping, lobbing, putting and fading would be handy.
When you mess up on a hole, training excercises are available to allow you to put, chip, drive etc, or do the complete hole. There is a training excercise available for my character where I must PUNCH to the green. Unfortunately, regardless of club or power given, the shot seems to be impossible. (I'm not a bad player. I got 12 birdies in a row just last night)

Natural fade?
When I hit the ball with a driver or even a 2 iron, it fades left. When my pal who is left-handed (And possiby a servant of the devil) hits with a driver or a 2 iron, it fades right. The arrow shows Straight and green.
Possibly correctable by applying the oposite fade but only if you hit for less than 110%. If you hit it full on, 110% even with a little slice or hook, the ball goes almost in a straight line. It even ignores the wind.
If I hit it straight, I want it to go straight. (except for wind drift of course)

Tap ins / gimmies
If my ball is "inches" away from the hole, I can hit it with full power (Full bars Blue and Green) and it ALWAYS goes in the hole.
Sometime when I tap it from 2 feet away, (Maybe 6% showing on the bars) It flys past the hole severl feet.
If I have "Tap-ins" switched on then my character usually misses the shot, often with the ball seemingly shooting up his trouser leg. I still get the right number of shots for the hole but the comentater berates me for MY poor putting. Rather annoying when the computer screws up and then verbally slags you off for it.

Collision detection.
On some courses, I can drive the ball and the ball bouces off an invisible forcefield a couple of feet above reeds or other flora. I had to replay this shot several times to see just what was happening.
Either make the flora bigger or get rid of the force field.
These force fields are on the greens too.
I hit a 10 foot putt and it hit such a field on the way to the hole and bounces off an invisible thingy and goes off at a tangent.
In some cases the cup seems to not be under the ground level as I have had balls bounce off the side of the hole too.

Camera angles.
For the most part they are ok. Very TV.
However, if whie driving, the camera stays on my character, all the way through the shot, I can not see to apply spin to the ball.
Lofting shots are also often difficult to see properly and these do respond quite well to spin for the most part.

Comentators.
When a comentator says "This could be trouble" and by deft spinning, you get your ball to avoid the rough but go into the bunker instead, the other comentator says "Your wrong, it's in the bunker!" obviously no trouble at all.

Further improvements.
I want to be able to save the game, or better yet, have the game save automatically after every shot, so that if I get called away or the power goes out, I don't lose the record string of eagles I'm in the middle of making.
Internet play. P2P

Get rid of the annoying glitch that makes the computer take your shot for you. The numer of 40 foot putts that have only gone 15 foot because the computer decided that you really wanted to inch your way to the hole...

While driving, Hitting it hard and getting 100% and then hitting it harder aiming for 110% and only getting 85%... now that's annoying!

More courses.
Why not have internet connection let you download from a huge database of courses? that way you only need to have the standard courses plus an internet course. I bought a memory card. Might be nice to get some use out of it.

Online play.
Come on guys! P2P has been with us for years. How can you send a game out without it? I have pals who also have the game and want to be able to play against them wihout having to tidy up before a game or lay on tea and biscuits.

Stat improvements.
I can find lots of items that will increase my "Luck" but some of the others, including "Power" are seriously lacking.

Types of shot.
Pressing the "1" button gives me types of shot available.
I want them ALL available ALL the time. If I want to Putt on the fairway and waste a shot, or loft from the fringe or whatever, I want the option available.

RUSHED INTO PRODUCTION.
This game has been sent out before it is finished.
The "Highlights" function does exactly nothing. I can't save my amazing holes-in-one, that unbeliveable faded drive or that super-long put.

This game does not have that much more going for it than 07.
Having both methods of putting as an option would have been nice.
A few changes, refinements is about all the difference there is.
I will not be buying 09 unless internet gaming is available, the character creation has been improved, I can see the people who are making the oooohs and aaaaahs...

Thanks for the info BigDave.... I'm thining of getting this game, and have one question.....

How many courses are available? Either initially, or as locked courses, etc.? I'm curious about the total number.

Thanks....
