2 possibilities here, 1 the disk is faulty, 2 the drive is faulty, if possible try it on another pc, you dont have to load the game on another pc just see if the load screen appears, if it does then its your drive, if it still doesnt then its a faulty disk.

Default OK getting some annoyed with EA now!!

I have the exact same problem except i have tried 3 different disks and different computer all together .... NOTHING!!!! .... i still get the load up the step by step thru to install and when the bar for installing comes up you can see just by watching that its attempting to install the same files over and over its jus running a loop of say 20 to 30 files but no progression or freezing or anything no error message literally nothing it will happily sit and try an try!!!!! what the hell!!!!! i've even tried extracting the files off the disk to a folder on the desktop and running the setup.exe from there but nothing. Any ideas ..... would love to hear them !!! Thanks

try going offline, shut down your security software, including any additional antispyware apps that may run at startup, if your using vista shut down UAC, its possible that your install is being blocked, try running the install from the setup.exe in the folder that you created as administrator, (right click the .exe and click run as administrator)
