Hi
I am experiencing a problem - when I am in-game playing a GA mission, the mission is pretty slow and choppy and almost unplayable, tried lowering all settings, from both game menu and my graphics card settings but with no improvement - NOW THIS IS THE WIERD BIT! - when I select a mission from the GA quick Play Menu - the missions play fine - it mainly seems to be when I play missions in the actual game - this is pretty annoying :-( I have no performance problems with any other aspect of the game - runs good enough - its just the GA missions. - does anyone else have similar problems or know any solutions? I have a RADEON HD 2400 CARD and 1.25 GB ram - I know this aint the best games rig around but it should be good enough for spore anyways. Oh - btw - also tried adding extra ram and increased Virtual Memory etc - still no improvement - feel like bashing my head against the damn wall now! - feel like im all out of ideas now of how to resolve this?- PLEASE HELP - SOMEONE? |

just had a look at your card specs and they are right on the minumum for Spore/GA, try a test, 1st clean/defrag your pc then close down every program thats running including all security systems, (go offline while you do this test) then try playing again, if this helps then 1st restart your security systems and try playing online as normal but without any additional programs running in the background, if it still works then its because of low system resources being gobbled up by unneeded programs running in the background.

I used to have the problem of Spore GA being mega slow and crashing all the time until I upgraded my computer's memory and put a new graphics card in. Now it works brilliantly, even with high settings on. Ok occasionally the programme crashes, but this is only once in a while now, not every half an hour or so like it did before!

YAY! - I have sorted out the problem - After painstakingly trying to find out the cause of why this was happening and still waiting to hear from EA technical suport - I decided to just wipe my computer clean altogether - reinstall windows etc, - when I tested an in game GA mission (where I originally encountered the severe lag problem)- it seems to work fine now!
![]() I have a feeling the problem may have been related to firefox and/or spyware nasties. Thanks for all you advice xx Monika |
