Colour Palete is Messed Up

Whenever I use the Exoskeleton Limbs or C&C parts the colour for any palete glitches, and I end up with my creature looking like somebody sploshed five different kinds of paint on it,

I am currently running Spore V. 5.1 (I installed 1.2 - 1.3 - 1.51 in that order) and all were manually downloaded (not from EA). I have uninstalled it twice already and I DO NOT want to have to do it again.

Any ideas?

Also, is it possible to have my account name changed?
