Several annoying problems

I have been playing spore for a while and have just have some big problems appear, the first is that I cannot download creations, If I download from the in game menu it says its downloaded, and if you try downloading again it says its already downloaded but it wont appear in recent downloads or in all, recent downloads says 12 new but there are only 2 items in it. if you drag a creation into the game from the desktop nothing happens. the second problem is that if I run the game from the galactic adventures icon, the animations do not work in creature or tribal stages making the game unplayable as all creatures do is stand still and do nothing, but if you run the game from the spore icon the do work, does anyone have any idea on how to fix these problems?
