Default 'Please insert the Galactic Adventures DVD' message when the DVD is inserted

Anyone else have a message coming up 'Please insert the Galactic Adventures DVD' when it's already in the DVD player?

I'm on Vista and the original Spore works fine for me still. The DVD just doesn't seem to be being recognised even though it's the same disk I installed from!

Does anyone have a work around or is there news of a fix coming?

Unless someone else has had this problem and has a solution they can share, I suggest you try the EA support site. Link's at the top of the page

Yeah I spotted it just after I posted!

Though in my defence I did carry out searches on the whole forum for a number of phrases and it wasn't tagged for any of them.

One thing that I did that was a little different from their intructions was to uninstall GA fully before reinstalling.

For anyone who has this problem and has come here first go to this link:

Happy adventures

YAY FIXED !
my XP pc uses sonic recording software and has a drag and drop feature called "DLA" (drive letter access) by removing this from my pc i am now able to play GA.

i know that sonic recording tools are often given free with vista pc's so have a check on your system for anthing that alters the recording or play feature of your dvd drives ..

hope you get it working soon.

Yeah man.I'm having the exact same problem. I tried starting up the actual spore game, to see if had installed there, but it wont let me access any adventures. its like the game doesn't think i have the expansion pack. ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY. I thought I was the only with this problem. If you find anything out or get it working some how, let me know.
Thanks.

yeah, I tried that but there wasn't really much there about this problem. It did say I should try downloading the latest Directx, so i did, but again nothing happend. I have a question, Where exacly is it I have to go to play GA? Is it in the game file that say's GA, or is that just the installment, and the game went into the original spore game itself? I tried going into the original game already but it was just advertising GA, it would'nt actually let me play it.
Any more suggestions anybody???
