Default Cheats (Yes, I know)

Hello...
I recently purchased Spore for PC, and have had no problems with it at all!
I love it!
Except cheats refuse to work. (I know, cheating is wrong, etc. Its just for a lark)
I am running spore on a Hewlett-Packard Pavilion dv5, which itself runs Vista Home Premium, meets all system requirements easily
I don't think its the keyboard (ctrl+shift+c does nothing on either the PS/2 inbuilt or the USB cheapie I am trying at the moment)
It seems I am not the only person having trouble with it...
I normally play offline, but am using the internet while trouble shooting. Any ideas?

There was indeed some setting with HP computers that prevented the cheat panel to open. Just can't remember how to change it back to work.

So don't worry, its only a setting.

EDIT: Found it (after very long search). The topic that has answer to your problem:

The issue is due that on some HP-computers (not all, as mine had not this problem) have some else command to the keycombination Ctrl + Shift + C. This affected that it couldn't work with the Spore one. This can be changed in the settings of the program the keycombination opens. (this can be done in the properties of that program)

thanks! I figured it out last night at about 5:00 for you guys, 3 in the morning for me ><
Click Ctrl+Shift+C in the desktop, find what it opens, open the shortcut in the start menu, right click, properties, when it says shortcut press backspace for none.
Thanks!
