I got SPORE for christmas this year. I checked all of my computer's specs; I even ran a program I found on the internet to check my compatibility with SPORE. I have the minimum requirements. After installing it, the game wouldn't run. Clicking autorun.exe did nothing. Clicking on the game in My Computer did nothing. Then I got lucky and clicking autorun.exe opened up the game. It warned me that I might want to update my graphics drivers but the game could run at low res. It was open long enough for me to register, celebrate and turn my computer off for the night. Now the game refuses to run anymore. What am I doing wrong?
I'm running windows vista. Does that have anything to do with it? |

I Have the EXACT same problem and i also meet minimum requirements for the game with Vista. What's going on? I've noticed that when i run it and look at all the processes running, i see "SporeApp.exe" running at about 13972K and after, my comp briefly gets laggy but nothing happens once again. Please help
some additional info: -I played for 2 hours straight before turning off spore -In Games my performance rating is 3.2 and spores minimum is 3 -I did nothing inbetween the time i first played it and tried to play again other than shutting down the comp |

there IS another way!!! instead of opening the SporeApp file or whatever, which doesnt work for me, you can do it another way. i know that people would say that their spore just doesnt load and the process for it just sits there doing nothing, but you can make another user account on your computer. spore should be in your new user account, and you can run the game from the new user account. hopefully this helps. its a weird way but it works.
EDIT: btw when you load the game, it might give you a black screen for a second and take you back to the desktop, like it does for me, but just wait, it will load. if it is, you shouldnt be able to right click on ur desktop. EDIT: dont worry spore341 it does work on vista. it doesnt give me a graphics card error anymore and the game runs fine. in fact i cana run the game on maximum performance with little lag. so i think that the graphics card error has nothing to do with ur graphics cards Last edited by SearingWolfe; 07-01-2009 at 02:54 AM.. |
