Tribal mode problems

I have reached the stage at which I can move on to tribal mode. When I do this, the game starts, and I get the screen up where it tells you to click on the hat icon and then move the mouse to the creature (or something similar), and then the game totally freezes up and it takes about 5 mins for me to close it down. Then when I restart the game I am back to where I was before collecting DNA. What is wrong?

Have you both tried patching up to patch 3?
