Default Patch: Did it fix your problem?

Hello everyone,

Just a quick poll asking if the patch fixed any problems you have. I personally thought that the patch didn't cover many issues, and it could have covered more issues highlighted by the many people in this forum.

Vote as you wish

No it didn't.

It still doesn't load to Tribal stage. I can't even say about other problems because I don't go any further. Creature Creator is so infantile that I don't play that, its a doll dressing competition.

Let see how long I wait untill I could play again /

lalalala...

The patch not only didn't work - it also caused my entire game to crash every time I try to enter the saved game. Completely useless.

Well I did not have a problem before the patch and so far from cell to civ stages I have not noticed that its broke anything either so no change no vote, as yet.

Yes AND no, yes it fixed the problems I was having, but I now have twice as many all new ones. I do not consider this an overall improvement.

Yes, it fixed the problems described in the update notes. And I'm really happy about the decreased disturbing "action" missions (ecosystem collapses and pirate raids).
And by the way @ community: Be fair - finding bugs in a huge program like Spore is not a piece of cake, it's extremely time consuming!

it fixed what it said it would BUT tis caused 2 different ones i have seen so far

1) freezes when moving from Tribal to Civ, the video froze and i had to press Esc to continue

2) when a race demands payment from me (its now a better figure 100K instear of 3 million) and i press "funds Unavalible" the button doesnt disapear and i can not get to that planet unless i click on "refuse demand"

other wise its better.

also i still CTD on a certain planet, even with a different race from a different planet, i go to that one planet and it crashes, wouldnt be so bad if it was a friendly race but they are not and i cant even destroy them

Same here. I mean, the biggest problem I had pre-patch was that my empire was changing colors inexplicably. Now it just CTD's on certain saved games.

I'm not saying they ought to find ALL bugs in one patch. Every game has numerous patches to correct balance issues, gameplay bugs, etc. That's fine. They can make a dozen patches for as long as they continually FIX stuff.

But making the first patch on an already HEAVILY BUGGED game that ADDS PROBLEMS? That's---well---there's no other word other than "inexcusable".

Apart from an annoying empire-color-change bug, prior to the patch my games worked fine. Now, a couple of saved games are corrupt and I can't even play them anymore. The patch has literally made my game UNPLAYABLE. It's not a figure of speech...IT IS UNPLAYABLE BECAUSE I CAN'T LOAD MY GAMES.

Well, as you probably too noticed, it depends from system to system. At my system, Spore runs pretty stable - it crashed once and I didn't save before (which means 10 hours of playing were lost) but that was my own fault (I didn't save my game because I didn't notice the strange save game tactics in space phase which does allow saving but not when you're at a planet's surface). And after installing the patch, I just once had that strange "black space" phenomenom - anything else works as fine as before.

That really is a pain in the ***. I really understand your frustration - I experienced loading bugs in another game which resulted in corrupted savegames ... the only herb that helps is doubling the files with a backup tool and restore old copies when it happened again

I didn't do that either but installed the patch manually. A question to all guys having probs after the patch: How did you receive the patch?

Invisible creatures on cell stage, invisible vehicles (sometimes) on space and civ stages, and extreme sound lagging on creature mode (when attacking or charming.singing/posing etc) and on creature creator.
In fact everything except food is invisible on cell stage and sometrimes the water stays black =/

My bug was random crashing in Space Stage, (sometimes on entering a specific star system) - I haven't even downloaded the patch. I don't want to. I'd rather have it randomly crash than to have the whole game go to pot.

the patch ****ed up my spore, first i couldn't get achievements, but that seems to have fixed itself, now i cant go into civ phase, it gets into the cutscene with the pie speech and then they dance and jump and then nothing, it simply just stays on the screen at the end of the cutscene, really ****ed coz time goes by as well, left it for 5 mins, it was daylight then it was darkness, come on EA, my game even crashes a lot more than it used to, i cant travel past 5 pc without in crashing during space.
