Default FIXED my flashing black screen and restart on cell to creature transition

Hi everyone.

I just fixed my flashing black screen and restart on cell to creature transition problems. So I thought I'd share what I did, nothing special, I just thought I'd share.

I'm running a AMD 2.21ghz, 1gb Ram, Windows XP Service pack 3 computer with aRadeon 9800 XT graphics card.

I had updated my graphics card drivers and direct X. I had updated everything I can think of. I had tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling it, I lowered the graphics settings all to low (I did get a success with all the graphics set to the lowest playing in 800 x 600 window, but that was lalalala!)

Nothing worked until I tried this advice.

How To Correctly Remove Video Card Drivers.

It seems a lot of people on the forums are getting error messages which can simply be solved by making sure old drivers are removed correctly. This isn't always the solution, but its certainly the first step to take in finding the solution. Also, I thought it would be useful to have a general guide on how to do it properly.

In order for new video card drivers to work correctly, you must first make sure that all old drivers for the video card are removed, as the old ones can conflict with the new ones, giving various errors when trying to run games ect.

Firstly, remove old drivers by navigating to device manager, and select display adapters, double click on your graphics card, select the driver tab, and select uninstall for your video card driver.

Download and install driver cleaner pro Here.

Once installed, reboot your computer and start in safe mode, run driver cleaner and select "Nvidia" (or whatever your card is) from the drop down list to be cleaned. This will remove all remaining parts of the old driver. It should be run in safe mode as this has the best results.

Once cleaned, restart the computer. Install the new driver.
After "properly" erasing my drivers I installed Omega drivers.

I hope this helps some people. I'm sure I might run into problems later, but hey, it works for now.
