EA Download Manager

Hi,

First off, I have a retail version of Spore, I have it installed and it installed the download manager along with it, i've logged into the manager with the account I attached to my Spore key but Spore isn't showing up in the manager. Is this intended or a bug?

Retail as in on a disk? If so thats intended. Only people who have bought it via EA Downloader are meant to see it on the downloader.

Well, it isn't showing up to me, although I bought the electronic download. I'm getting really annoyed as I can't download the game.

Ah cool, yeh as in a disk.

Was just checking if it should be there or not, don't want to miss out on any patches.

You'd download the patch manually, if there is ever going to be one >.<

i heard that patches would only be availale thiough EADM, is this true or just a rumour?

EDIT: ive just checked in the game manual and it says you need to use EADM to get updates, hopefully tehy will be linked peoperly on monday when EA get back in the office and deal with the complaints

so to be sure, I bought the retail version and the download manager don't have to show up on my computer, beacuse that's what happened to me.

Rubbish. Patches will be publically available, even if its not from EA / Maxis' sites.

woooooo! thanks man! i thought the DRM would mean that you could only use the EADM patch or you wouldnt be able to use the onlien features beacuse teh files wouldnt match and some form of check would fail!

Meh noticed? It'll be the reference of many as thats when the yanks get it as no game shops are open on sundays

ahh yes! well its a good cause! we really do need a patch, youve just gotta love how EA mess up on the pc! *coughs* battlefeild 2 booster packs *coughs*

Just as the title says I downloaded a retail version of Spore. Its not showing in the EADM and is unplayable. Any sugestions or fixes?

Can you be more clear. I dont mean to patronise you here but:

1) A "retail" version is one you physically went to the shop and bought yourself from GAME or somewhere.

2) A Download version of PC Games is called a "Digital Download" from EA store/Steam or Direct2Drive (depending on the game), which you type in your credit card and they give you a code to access their servers, you download it via a DM of direct ftp.

1 or 2?
