You're not alone!

Loads of people have a buggy copy. Did you download if off the EA site or buy the disk?

DVD version for many, but its not been confirmed its just the DVD one. Is it a startup issue you're having or is it just crashing when it wants?

Well i have a Nvidia 9800GX2 which is basially a SLI card (it has two cores which are linked together), which is the 3870 X2's brother in crime (dual core).

Ive not had any driver problems, but i still get crashes in space mode. Having said that, since theres no EA support staff looking through these forums no-one can't really help you on that, and you've done the best thing by looking for new drivers.

Then its the cards freaking fault, the **** is going out as soon as the weekend is over. NEVER dual core gpus AGAIN it got no freaking future. rather two in Crossfire than two cores in a single card. because then you can atleast turn the **** off if something screws up.

Yep, not all games are dual core compatible yet, but spore really should be by standard!

Maybe its just the card as you said, as i understand they've released about 3 models after the 3970 haven't they? Aren't they on like 4970 HD or something daft like that? I lost interest in ATI after i got my Nvidia card, its a somewhat improvement.

No improvement, me and my friend were supposed to play spore this weekend, he got hd 4870x2. as i thought they were basicly the same then the same fix would work for both but THERE IS NONE.

Todays GAME market and hardware market is SICKENING. ATI which doesnt give a damn about anything, Nvidia which have high prices, low durability and uses cheap tricks against other hardware companies ( Age of conan ati memory failure anyone??)

Buying a hd 4870 x1!!!! this monday. NO MORE DUAL GPU not until thats made the standard card. not until more than a few copies per country actually gets sold.

Plus its more right to buy the cards from slackers than from lalalalalalalas who thinks removing competition with brute force so that everyone can see it is the right thing to do.

WoW, most steam games, wc3. Everything works of 10% to a maximum of 20% of the gpu.......... Suckage.... only games i know of which actually does work with both gpu's is crysis and stalker. rest is either one core or does not want to start.

Well Crysis doesn't like my Card on Vista 64, it crashes in cutscenes, but its maybe because ive got a 800W PSU powering a Intel Quad Core, the GX2 (uses 450 Watts alone under load), 2 HDs and the rest.

But yeah, dual core cards are still maturing, they may be the best thing come this time next year, or two, but it's still unacceptable currently.
