The registration code used for this game cannot be validated

Ok so I buy spore online, 1am comes round and I decrypt and install it, then fall asleep.

I try and create my spore ID in game this morning and I get this

"The registration code used for this game cannot be validated"

Checked my EA online password, thats ok

Tied the game to my account with a registraion through the portal, that seems fine too

Still cant create an online ID

What gives? Is this something I am doing or a known issue at the moment?

Is it the GE edition? If so seems to be a regular trend...

I have the same error said my key was invalid then said I didn't have privilages to run online content

I bought the game through the EA DM as soon as it went on pre order now I cant enjoy the online features. Why is this!

Same here, I get 'The Registration Key used to install this game cannot be validated' when I install the game and try to Activate/register. I bought mine from the EA store with the downloader.

Useless.

I didn't order from the online store, a retail purchase although it is the GE, it seems to be just that version... meh

Same problem here. In the UK, running GE version on Vista.

Any chance of some indication from staff that this problem has been acknowledged and is being worked on.

Been playing for 24 hours now with no online content.

same problem, i tried to log into my account and it says invalid the first time, then says i dont have the spore priviledges everytime afte that..

Also GE edition

Great! Last night i couldn't log-on so get the online content, and when i woke up today i was hopping that it was fixed. But now im stuck in the same boat as you guys: "You dont have the proper Spore.com privileges to use this products Online features."

But when i started up and tried to login i got "This isnt a Valid Cd-key" Erm, ok? Well i installed using this key and if it was invalid they the install shouldn't even started. Then i got the "You dont have the online privileges error".

Playing on a "Galactic Edition" in English. (Even though i live in sweden).

...same here. Standard edition, bought thru download manager

I've tried using my existing account details, and creating a new account with a different email address, and I either get "could not connect to the internet" or "invalid registration key"....

Won't load at all with SLI enabled either, but we'll worry about that another time....

Same issue for me. Galactic edition and can't register the game to get online content. This is just ridiculous.

3) When trying to login again:

Restart game, same as above over and over.

I'm from Finland and I went out and got Spore GE yesterday morning.

I didn't have an EA account to I tried making one in the game, it gave me some "unknown error". I still recieved an email from EA and apparently the account had been made. Then I tried using that account to make a spore account and got the same "unknown error". The same error happened throughout the whole day.

Today, I'm getting the same "The registration key used to install this game cannot be validated" as everyone else seems to be getting.

What gives, EA?
