Please provide an ETA for the server fix. How hard is it to phone your tech guys, and then communicate with your customers?

Simple way to fix all problems: do away with the ridiculous DRM / copy protection and authentication alltogether. how about a patch tomorrow morning? This is no way to treat paying customers.

Was told a few hours ago when I rang, a few hours ago. So any time now, but I have no idea if this is remotely realistic if EA don't communicate to all their consumers publicly.

Very Shabby release EA. you follow nicely in the footsteps of Eidos and the Age of Conan release which was another fiasco.

it is about time you got your act together and acted like a responsible organisation with tried and tested QA systems to ensure these problems do not occur.

For too long we, your customers and the people that make your shares worth investing in have paid the price with shoddy workmanship.

It is an absolute disgrace and it is about time that you publicly accepted responsibility for the sham of this launch.

Personally, I care not for any server or infrastructure excuses as you are supposedly a major player in game publishing. So please, get off your backsides, drag your affluent CEO out of his mansion and get these issues sorted.

Hmmm glad I am to hear that I am not the only one suffering from this error, I didnt buy mine from the EA store, but am running the GE of the game aswell.

Can it be a vista fault, how many here having the issue under vista and have they tried disabling the UAC as you had to do with ME for the PC aswell in order to get it to run the first time. (Do a google search for TweakUAC, it's a free download and not much in size but it does help alot and it is rather self explantory what it does in it 3 (three) modes)

If so I do hope to see a fix for this in the near future, the whole idea of spore was enabling the internet and other people's creations on to youre PC.

Or maybe EA and Maxis simply over estimated their success that Spore would be and under powered the servers, if such a thing is even possible, and they couldnt take the sudden surge of users wanting to register at once.

aye to be fair, prob does seem fixed.... logged in this morning via settings > online options > registration and logged in with an existing ea account and went straight in.... phew... spose we poss should expect this on release ish day... but still damn annoying lol. no expert so not sure what it relates to .... anyways, will go quiet now... hope everyones game is working

I never got the creature creator to waiting for full version in store , so i buy the SE and get to install and having the same cant use serial code to install game, so here i have an expensive game that i cant even play. After contact support for help the response is "known problem will post answer" click link if u want to be notified. Hmmm fat chance i will be returning the game tomorrow, 1 thing i did notice is the number above ur serial code to install the game is different to the one on the back of the box. just wondering if i have the wonrg manual for my disc? is everybody's like that ?

Tried logging in with my existing EA account, used for BF2/BF2k, didn't work. Key cannot be validated.

Tried creating a new account, while launching the executable directly, it launched in Polish (default), even though i chose english with installation. It said it cannot validate my key.

I went as far as confirming that my key is the same as on the box within the registry keys. It still doesn't work.

I have the Galactic Editition [PL].

I know that coodrinating a launch of this scale is tricky, but come on!

Same problem here,
Live in Holland,got it from the EA Store, preloaded it, and i also get the key cannot be validated error.

EDIT// READ THIS: going into options>online option,s and logging in from there works, logging in from the starting prompt somehow doesn't :P
