The registration code used for this game cannot be validated - Page 4

I purchase the Galactic Edition in Game today and i also ....

1) cannot login using my existing EA account because my registration key isnt valid apparently.

2) cannot create a new EA account because it keeps saying that the passwords dont match even when they are as simple as 'hello'

Frustration is an understatement and if the game doesnt work fully by tomorrow morning its going straight back to game in favour of something which does work!

Code not validated on UK GE for Mac. I'm logged into my EA account now so the password must be right... I am more than a bit annoyed now that I paid £40 for a broken game through no fault of my own! Get it sorted EA.

yesterday i thought i was lucky getting it a day early, but the servers didn't work. i was forgiving, as it wasn't actually due out till today. but now i get a different problem, i'm really not impressed.

Tonnes of Galactic Editions are not working, I think maybe 100% of them are showing invalid codes and to be completely honest, its stupid, and EA/Maxis just need to allow the servers to accept all our GE codes so we can play. AAAHHH

Please mention if you have the normal version and this happens.

£44 (almost $90 US) for a major F%!K UP!

Think about this, if 10,000 people buy the GE version then thats £440,000, and theres loads more people who bought it. All that money and the servers dont work

well i live near their UK Guildford Headquarters and They'll be getting some complaints.

EA seriously needs to sort this out as it seems everyone in this thread is having the exact same problem as me and they all have Galactic Edition.

It got itself on "The Register" news website now, so it won't be long before it starts popping up on the other major web news sites.

I've actually started playing other games because i've been waiting so long to get online.

Well i have 2 problems, one i cannot register like many others, and since today it also states that my Cd-key cannot be validated as stated before by some of u... But on top of that... Since i wanted to play this game today, when i started it, i didn't have any planets to click on to continue playing or to start a new game... In short, i cannot register and/or play the game itself (an in Holland retail purchased GE edition)...
I hope it will be fixed soon...

From Belgium, and same here: bought GE in store (not online) and same yesterday: "could not register due to unknown error" and today "the registration key used to install this game cannot be validated", did receive registration e-mail afterwards but logging in from within the game is impossible.

PS running it on OS X Leopard

well. it doesn't work for me, I've been on the phone for minutes and minutes and nobody answered my call, paying Euro 0,45 a minute!
I alsmost paid as much for this non support as for the game, this is ridiculous, perhaps we should all get some money back.

They don't seem too bothered by all these comments. I for one will be banging on the door of my local Game tomorrow at 9am for my cash back. If the retailers are having to refund real money to consumers then maybe the message will sink in at EA. Maybe...

I have the same error as the first posters, but as alot of you got the GE from the downloader, I bought mine in GAME UK Store. So I have the actual CDs. So I am hoping thisconfirms thats its not just the DLoader version of the game.
