Oh well, one more day to wait after months/years is a small annoyance at this stage..

EA is one of the biggest game publishers out there and they can't even fix their own servers to authenticate cd keys. Even 2K Games fixed their problems faster when BioShock was released.

I'm really fed up of waiting now and my patience is waning. I will not play the game offline. Period.

Not a good day for EA.

And yep you guessed it, I'm having the exact same problem
I either cannot log into my already existing account with the explanation being I don't have the privileges to online content, or something along them lines.

And if I try to make a new account I get the registration code problem

This is amazingly frustrating an I hope it gets sorted out soon

Brought mine from game ( galactic edition ) phoned customer support
and have been given a ticket number ( yay ).
I was told the spore server is currently down this is why it cant be validated.

Same here in UK with Galactic Ed. Got it yesterday and ok fair enough its not release date and I got no way to even register so gave up and left it. Today official release and now its changed to invalid key then moved onto cant authenticate.

I bought this to play online so until that happens its benched. If its not fixed by Monday Im sending it back for a refund as its a joke to have a released game with the options broken. It wouldnt be so bad if we got told on the site but the first thing when you see this is to either think your key has been nicked or its invalid but its a server issue.

Bit of a bad week for you EA what with the fiasco of Mercs 2 stunt this morning with petrol, then the game being released way buggy and then this. Ive bought both so please get em fixed; oh and can we please have a release date for Rock Band 2 in the UK as where all bashing our heads over that as well on 360.

Spore first though please as I would like to play it this weekend.

Im getting the same thing with Galactic Edition, hope this gets fixed soon, you would think that after it took so long to release the game this sort of stuff would be tested in advance.

I also bought Mass Effect this morning and that's telling me 'Could Not Write License Data' looks like a SecuRom issue but I'm no closer to fixing that one either!

Two games purchased, neither work properly. Well Done EA.

I agree, a few days is nothing to me now, especially since I can still play offline. I'm not going to space though till they fix it - 50,000plannets with only stock creatures on? No thanks...

There is an updated (or at least the latest one) in the support section for the spore creature creator.

I'm having trouble believing it's a server issue because the new key I recieved works. My friend (also has GE) called about an hour ago and was on hold for half an hour but he did not recieve a key. He was told to wait until monday and call back if the issue wasn't resolved.

Also, on the swedish support we don't get music. We get a woman with an ear-piercing voice saying "There are no technical supporters available right now, please stand by" in swedish over and over again. I almost got a nosebleed from the frustration.

same problem, got the game today, cannot register the validation key... reinstalled several times and re-entered just in case i am being an idiot. no joy.

was kinda warned re getting spore re the supposed useless copy protection, and well wilalalalaook the advice....will wait and monitor, and return the game shortly.

We (Big Fans) payed more then the normal edition and this is how EA repays US !
You made a mistake EA and a real big one.
This is highly unprofessional.
