Cannot Login / Login errors / Server problems

We are aware that many of you are having login problems with Spore. This is being investigated so please bear with us.


** EA Store Customers Update **

Please note, if you purchased the game through EA Store, it’s important you login to the game using the account that you bought the game with. This was automatically registered for you when purchasing the game. So please try logging in with those details.

Update!

For those still having login issues I would advise trying the following:

Delete this file: C:\Documents and Settings\{username}\Application Data\SPORE\Preferences\login.prop

You can then re-load Spore, enter your Email address, Password and then a Persona.

Heh I just registered to ask about this.

I get "Invalid Login" if thats any help. The login works on Spore.com though.

I can't believe I've spent £44 and be all excited to play spore when I can't even login. I even tried creating a new account but "oh no" they won't work either.

this is messed up... so typical EA, releasing a game, & not having servers with the capability needed for the amount of games they made copies of. Now servers are totaly overloaded...
EA do this alot.... "lets sell the game, see how many servers we need, then we upgrade!, we screw out custumers, but save alot of cash, maybe" Thanks again EA, the game i lub, as with alot of EA games, but again as ALWAYS you manage to screw us over with ur "online-part" & servers.

The servers recognise my login details, asks me if I want to link game installation to spore.com account, then says invalid login. Yeah, eu.spore.com login servers are down, but why? Aren't people just about starting to receive their copies? Can't wait to see what happens when the numbers start to grow.

Do you know at the moment if this is just a connectivity issue or is there something more seriously wrong with the registration software running on the server?

LooooL lalala... the release date in Norway was set too the 4th Sept. Now i read on the main Spore.Com, it says Sept. 7th,
EA-UK says 5th Sept. Wassup ? U cant just "delay" the release date on the day the game is released!

And ummm... ive had the game for 48h now, & nothing have worked since i got it. Cant register (with EA account allready made), or loggon. On the website i couldnt log on, exept the forum here, with EA mail & pw.

Only new now today is that now it cant even connect to the "register" page ingame, unless u refresh a coupple times, & same goes with web-material. Overloaded.... so no, nothing is new the last 48h exept its going sloower.

The release dates are different for each area. While it releases in europe tomorrow, it will release 7th in USA.

Though in practice I got Spore (Galactic Edition) yesterday in a local shop.


(In fact I think the 'problems' are here to prevent those who got their copies before release from getting the fullest from the game before everyone else can do it as well)

This is stupid. The server evidently recognizes my login details.

If I use another email address than the one I registered my Spore account with, it says "Invalid login" right away. However, if I use the correct email address, it says "Connecting to the Spore server", then tells me it'll connect my installation to that Spore account. THEN it says "Invalid login"!

Is this what I paid good money for? I even got the Galactic Edition!

you can still play the game though even without login in and still have access to all your created creatures... not that you need them to begin anyway

well yes, the game is totaly playable without online part. just press the red X in the upper right corner when it asks to logg in. but after a while, it will be alot more fun with the online part so the game is NOT unplayable, dont missunderstand those that havent tried to play it yet. As I sais above, i love the game!!!! i just need more... neeed it waant it. And if i remember right, payed for it.

After setting up spore, and when it asks me to create a spore name, it comes up with an unknown error occured during registration.

I am getting the unkown error/invalid login error message, mighty annoying. Reminds me why I switched to consoles as my platform of choice, all these teething problems every time you try and play a game on the pc...

At this point, having one of the devs give out a bit of actual technical information, would do much to alleviate frustrations. My frustrations, at least.

I debug large database systems for a living, so I know how infuriating they can be. Hence, I'll understand whatever problems they're up against. What I don't understand is silence.
