i brought the game today (retailer) its instaled fine, but every time i click on the shortcut to the game it says "you must be connected to the internet for this game to be authenticated" (or something along those lines) iv already done this though, i thought you only had to go online once and then you could play the game without a connection? or am i doing something wrong?

Spore won't let me log in. It says I haven't validated my account, but every time I try to get a validation email I get nothing. I've a yahoo email account, if that makes a difference. Ive been trying for a month already.

In Vista you need to go to Control Panel > Folder Options and in the View Tab click on the button selector - Show hidden files and folders. The AppData folder is hidden, and the Spore folder is located in the Roaming folder. C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Spore\Preferences\login.prop <---- Vista 64-bit

same problem as smoke still, and ive noticed that there is no reply, wake up EA, we didnt buy it to get half out of it, you make a good game, then you go and blow it, sort it out, you've made something good, so dont let us down

Greetings all,
I played 4 hours in row, forgetting to save , in the mean while my connection went down or the server kick me off, I don't now, nevertheless I reconnect to the net, logged in to the spore-server without problem but I can't save anyway !!!!!!! Not beeing able to play is bad but having played 4 hours and got everything lost (from creature to space) is possibly even worst.... please any suggestions?

I bought the galactic edition, worked fine for 3 weeks then BOOM - can't connect to the licensserver. Wrote EA about - the answered after about 33 hours wtih: "Sorry! We know there is a problem" (of cause I shorten it down for you, cutting all the lala). So I said to myself, okay they'll fix it - just wait a bit. After a week I wrote them (using the "direct mail" they asked me to in the first mail) that I still couldn't login. No response. Waited another week. Wrote them again - still no response. After a week I wrote them one last time, and this time I really was frustrated with their lack of interest or concern for their legal users... But do you think they answered? NO! *** EA! What kind of policy is that towards your users? For about one and a half month haven't I been able to play, how do they think that a product so simple could hold the interests of the players, when you can't play.
EA! I got an idea for you - stop wasting time to copy-protect your products, they will always hack it eventually, and start using the money where you actually focus on your customers. Basic sales theory from me to you (no charge since I'm a good guy): If you wanna sell something, make sure to have customers, if you keep ignoring and/or #%!§ing with us you won't have anyone to sell your unfinished products to. J PS: To all you other users, I don't hope my choice of words or language offend you, english isn't my primary language and I'm really angry with EA - not you - at the moment. |

Finding it hilarious that EA think that ppl, who are able to type their specs in a forum - are so stupid that they wouldn't think that it might be their firewall blocking the game or an unplugged cable. Comon EA - admit you bought to few servers or that you just don't give a #€%& about us.

i think more people should take action, first they bring out a lalalala version of the game so we buy expansions, then they bring out crappy patches, then they make axpansion plans ignoring the 5% of purchasers that haven't benn allowed to use online spore yet. I hope maxis BURNS.

i am so angry. i legitamitly bought this game for its online features rather than a cracked copy which cant access the net, and i am rewarded by not being able to play the game...at all! After installing, the game is about to launch and a message pops up 'the game cannot start. The game needs access to the internet in order to verify ownership. please ensure you are connected and try again' Suck my balls EA. I am online. ive been searching for a solution all over all over the net and many people are having the same problem. the solutions range from disabling firewalls to changing stuff in ms dos, disabling virus protection and lots of other crazy stuff. why does my computer need to take off its protection to play the game? i havent been able to play. the cracked copy works better than mine. goddamn you ea. what are you doing to your customers?

this game is the biggest dissapointment. i played a cracked copy and the game itself is pretty cool, not great, the idea is better than what it is, but its fun. but ea have sucked that fun out with this draconian lalalala. and if id known about securom and it not being able to be uninstalled id have never wasted my money. im takin the game back. im very bitter. i dont think any1 at ea will help, looking at the way every1 else is treated. i am in such a rage over this. i just want to play this ****ty game while its still fun, and not just have a bitter, bitter memory of it!

'On September 22, 2008, a global class action law suit was filed against EA, regarding the DRM in Spore, complaining about EA not disclosing the existence of SecuROM, and addressing how SecuROM runs with the nature of a rootkit, including how it remains on the hard drive even after Spore is uninstalled' from wikipedia. there is no art in this companys electronics, they are greedy misguided ****ers

ok heres a server problem for you, i have only 1 achievement listed, one i earned the other day, all my others have gone, this happened a few days after updating to patch 1.02, so i think its not the patch.
it happened around the same day the server was down for maintenance, and somewhere in the game help i read that the achievements are stored on the server. |
