yeah i might snare me one and lock him in a cage so i know where to go when i have a problem. .. i think the term having a life is seriousley over used. people are like, ooo i have a life, go get a life, then they sit at their comp playing 2-d games killing zombies drinking coffee for hours. people should stop saying it, that aside im still not getting on online spore.

na its not hidden.....but i cant remember myself.
what i normally do is something like (i think this worked when i was looking for the screenshots) was when i was in the folders ect...hit ctrl f.....go to search files and folders. then hit advanced options and make sure its set to find hidden folders as well. then type in something like applications data or preferences or something then just wait. your bound to get it eventually.this is for XP btw....i dont know if it works the same way on vista

Guess what....
Game still not working. Even after trying to log in using the account they say it is registered too. Good grief this is a total mess of a release....if playing a game on a computer has become this complicated something is severely wrong with the world. |

I could not get spore to work following the advice to remove the line 127.0.0.1 proxy.novafusion.ea.com from the hosts file using terminal, however, it did work using an existing utility in my applications folder called X11. I don't know why or how...
Give it a shot following the exact same process. |

I bought spore just over 3 weeks ago. For the first 3 weeks it was running excellantly
. But then the game just stopped without warning. Now, when i launch the game, it doesnt even display the ea logo. The screen just goes blank, then I am dumped back on the desktop. I have tried reinstallation and patching. The game had been working fine until then, and nothing new has been installed since then, so there is nothing wrong with my computer. I dont even get an error message. I need to know wether there is anything I should do on the computer or wether i should look into repairing the disc or what. Would appreciate snappy response.

California
United States Standard Edition SPORE Windows Vista Home Premium, on Toshiba Satelite Laptop All I can say is: "At least the UK site is getting feedback, or has a forum PERIOD!" Over here in the U.S., the site is buggy and mostly doesn't work, and we're lucky to get a Maxis rep to SNEAZE in our general direction, let alone acknowledge that we have problems. OK, so I'm not sure if anyone here can help, since I live in the US, in California. It's pathetic really, living 20 miles from one of EA's office buildings and not being able to get help... that's beside the point. I live in the US, in Southern California. I'm running Standard Edition of Spore that I purchased from Target (an American retail chain, similar to Wal-Mart). Bought the game Monday. When the game first released, I borrowed my friend's copy that he got from EADM and attempted installing it on my computer. Unfortunately the install didn't work because the file was corrupt. SO, I uninstalled what little bit of the game HAD loaded itself onto my PC. Last Saturday I downloaded the trial version of Creature Creator onto my PC to see if I could get it to run. I was quite excited when it did. So I went out on a limb and risked purchasing the full version of Creature Creator. I mean, after all, if it didn't run I'd only be out $10. Installed it, linked up to my profile, ran beautifully. Then I read on the net that generally if your PC will support Creature Creator, it will support SPORE. SO, not wanting to risk downloading a corrupt file, I ran to the nearest electronics store and purchased a hard copy of SPORE. I had no problems installing it. It loaded beautifully... until I came upon the dreaded "The code for this installation is invalid and cannot be used to link this product to your account" Message. When I hit "Try again" I got the "You do not have the proper SPORE.com privileges to use this product's online features" Message. So I went online and tried contacting EA's Customer Support. What a joke (here in the States at least). Then I went searching for answers. I tried doing the "delete preferences folder and try again trick", but the login.** file was nowhere to be found. After much digging I FINALLY found the Preferences folder and deleted it.Which did nothing. I still get the error messages. One weird thing that I DID notice when I started my install, is that NOWHERE not ONCE did it give me any sort of input field to type in the registration key on the back of my manual. As soon as I put the disk in it made me select a language, asked if I agreed with the terms and conditions, and instantly began installing the game (which I find odd for Maxis). ALSO, SPORE doesn't display in the EADM as "installed" with the " --> Play" button like both versions of creature creator did. BUT, if the EADM is running while spore is running, EADM displays the message "EADM is in use by SPORE". Other things I tried are Having the EADM off when starting the game, as opposed to on. Deleting all the temp files from the EADM folder. Both of which did nothing. I'm going to attempt to contact EA over the phone on the number provided in the game manual. If by tomorrow after lunch, my issue still isn't resolved, I'm going to go to the nearest EA corporate Headquarters in Los Angeles and throw my game at someone's head... At least then I'd be getting $50 worth of enjoyment out of this game. |

Intriguingly, I've had this game for several weeks now since getting it on release game. Then today I loaded it up and was surprised to be greeted by the message "Login Invalid." Odd, considering it's worked the past month without hitch.
I'm running XP Professional, Phenom quad-core 9850 and an ATI HD4850 card. For all the difference it makes; it was the same spec when it was working yesterday. If there's been any change, it's with their server. Tried deleting the login.prop file and re-logging on but no luck. Shame, I was kinda enjoying myself for a minute there. |

Ive been happily playing and creating things in spore for the last month now without a hiccup, but today I couldn't log in, nothing has changed on my computer and my internet connection is working fine. But I dont have the patch nor do I want it as my spore mods wont work, do I need the new patch for me to log in or dosent it matter?

Having same issue as everyone else, mine worked fine (once i'd prised it from PC Worlds dying fingers) and had 2/3 weeks of playing pleasure.
Tried to get on tonight and .......... No coment. Only have this and battlefield 1942 installed as well as the usual bundled rubish with a new laptop. |
