Cannot Login / Login errors / Server problems

i also need help, when i try to login its telling me there re server problems, or that my login details are wrong.. how do i get an account for spore.com??

Look, all i want ot know is 1# do the servers work and if not when will they and 2# how do i log into online spore, and sort out my account on it. ill wait a month if EA can fix the problem, if they cant well, i havent bought a game for 6 months so this will probably be my last.. make it a good un.

when i log in, it logs in OK, and says it will say i have the full game on my profile, then it says i don't have the privalages! have i put up a rude creature? if EA knows about this, can you tell me? i've got loads of grat creations!

This is complete lala. I finally got a reply from the EA support - they tell me it was registered to a different email account (one that is mine but not the one I want to use for my online gaming) - I ask them to please change the email account to match up with my previous creature creator data and they say nope they can't do it.

Unfortunately, a registration code can only be used once to create one account. You cannot use the same registration code to register another account. This also means that account registered once cannot be reset and registration cannot be transferred to another account. In order to play the game you will need to login to game using the same account name which you used to register the game.

So you are telling me if I close an email account or my email account gets hacked or some other lovely variable of the internet f's up my email account - I am screwed and I can't change my game to a new account. That is lala. This is the last EA game I am buying - they just lost a customer because of this stupidity.

Oh and I just noticed they opend the email with "Greetings Ruben" - my name is not Ruben - DOH!

Mac Users who still see the error 'Login failed: You do not have the proper spore. com privileges' did you purchase the downloadable version from TransGaming Inc. or Gametreeonline.com?

I contacted gametreeonline, and in a matter of minutes I get this response:

Upon receipt of this support request we have begun the process of deactivating your current
SPORE Key, and have provided for you below, a NEW Activation Key. Please follow the quick
and easy steps provided to ensure you can get back to playing SPORE and ruling the universe.

Quick and Easy Steps:
1. Locate and remove your "SPORE Preferences" folder, located under
/Users/<yourusername>/Library/Preferences/SPORE Preferences/

They say we will loose all our saved game data but I found out how to keep it! Instead of deleting the "SPORE Preferences" or using the automated thingy:

1. Drag the "SPORE Preferences" folder to the desktop.
2. Load the game up for it to make a new "SPORE Preferences" folder and then close the game.
3. Go to the newly created "SPORE Preferences" folder and delete the "p_drive" folder.
4. Now, open up the original "SPORE Preferences" folder you moved to your desktop and look for a folder called "p_drive". Drag that to the newly created "SPORE Preferences".

The p_drive folder is where all the content is (mine was over 3 gigs and the newly created one was like 44kb, that's how I came to this realization).

For Mac users who did not purchase the downloadable version I would suggest following my steps in making a new SPORE Preferences folder just to see if it works. Just remember that if you had that "The game cannot start error" you may get it again and have to delete that lalalala in Sudo Nano Hosts again, lol.

I registered a few months before the game came out. I was playing the creature creator demo, I think.. Anyway, everything was going fine until one day I logged in and it said my account had yet to be validated. Would you guys/girls mind sending a validation email to me? I just got Spore and I need that online account!

Just looking at some of the comments here has made me realise what a catastrophe this release has become.

I refused to buy this game because of SecureROM, which is a shame, because it looks like a fun game, but now with people being unable to logon, and the first patch screwing up the game as well, I think this game may end up costing EA a serious amount of money, rather than earning them profit. Plenty of less computer literate people will be taking their games back for refunds, rather than hunting through forums for answers.

They say PC gaming is dying out. I refute this, as I believe it is strong as it always has been. What is different is the attitude towards the PC user that criminalises them that console owners aren't.

Frankly, I want to see EA fall flat on their face here, because it is the only way that they will learn that they cannot mess with their consumer base.

My friend bought spore and uploaded it and her PC is a Windows Vista. She appears to have all the system requirements. But when she clicks on the Spore icon it says
"the games needs access to the internet in order to verify ownership of this game. please ensure that your computer is online and try again"

It says this even when she is definately connected to the internet. Could anyone help her with this?

I don't feel like reading through 50 pages of posts, but can someone please enlighten me how simply to connect to the spore server? I tried the solution on p1, but it didn't work. I haven't got to connecting to the internet yet (through spore).

And as you can see here, things are working quite well.

i'm also getting invalid login reported it to customer support and there sending email like it me doing something wrong when theres loads of us with the same prob sort it out ea

ugh 50 posts and not a single answer from EA, sure it works for some people, some people have £10,000 to spend on a computer, but the 'casual gamers' the game was aimed at are still struggling to use the online spore, which is about 45% of the game. thats about £14 of the game i payed for and am not getting. EA creates games, if it cant fix a server problem when there are 1000s of smaller companies out there that manage it what is it saying about itself??

Just as (almost) everybody I got the problem that it can't log on the server of EA. Some gave the advice of (different versions possible):
- cd / etc
- sudo nano hosts
- password
- delete line of code..

But after I type in my password I just get a blank screen on terminal (yes, I am on a mac =)..).
Anybody else have this too?
It has cost me 60 euro, so it would be nice (understatement) if it would work.

Just come back off holiday. thought i might try spore out (thinking it should be fixed by now) open the game up, get the "this will link this game to your account" code, i press ok and then get the same "this code is invalid" message.

I then press on "login" at the bottom and type my password in, and it says "you do not have the correct spore.com privellages" but i can post on the forums and i can log in on the "spore.com" website.

i would try the fix on the first page but no such file exists... (im using vista if that helps)

I just Got Spore 3 days ago and have enjoyed it so for but for some reason i cant use the command consle i have pressed ctrl + shift +c multiple times and even used an external keyboard but the console just wont appear

im having same probs as wilosh and sporebutte, it doesnt connect saying make sure your i net is connected, if persists go to spore.com , alternativley i try to log in and it says login invalid, spore.com says login failed as no persona is with the account, how the f*** do i get a persona??? theres no link.

If you are having problems linking your account then you will need to contact the support team via the Support Centre

For those with connecting online issues please ensure that any firewall software/hardware has been adjusted to allow the Spore application full access to the internet.

i had to uninstall the game now i cannot register the game or login with my password i had before really getting on my nerves

i need help with my login, it says login invalid, or, no persona connected to this account, i didnt know id made one and i didnt purcahse online, im on windows vista and i got it from Zavvi, a store, the internet wont connect but my connection is active and working fine, so i need help with sorting my login details, and an explaation as to why the connection only works for some people.

the first comment mentions deleting this file. i cant find it, where is it?

sometimes the application data folder for usernames is a hidden folder. check your hidden folder options i needed to go to it for screenshots for sins of a solar empire.

also sometimes you wont get a response becasue even the ea reps have lives and other things to deal with they might be here to help but they arnt here to serve people 24/7 (even though it would be nice )
