Still waiting to be able to play online. I'd call EA and complain over the phone, but I'm not spending further money calling them when it'll get me nowhere.
The next time EA release a game with online play I'll either wait two months before buying it or ignore it altogether. |

Just been on the phone with EA support and they are still working through GE activation codes on the server. Once the support guy had confirmed that my account and activation codes were correct all he could say was keep on waiting and trying - it will come through eventually.

Hello UK community... I'm from US and bought Spore yesterday. I installed on my machine and my daughter logged in under her name and started playing just fine. Her creations from Creature Creator and everything else worked fine, she LOVES the game.
Today I log in, on the same computer, and I get: YOU DO NOT HAVE THE PROPER SPORE.COM PRIVILEGES TO USE THIS GAMES ONLINE FEATURES. Is EA telling me I have to purchase the game a separately for every member of my household? So what, do I go back to the store and install another freaking disk? My game manual says - "You may have multiple Spore accounts for each installation of the game." This is ridiculous, absolutely uncalled for. I want to play the game that I spent good money on!!! I want to play it now with my creatures that I spent hours making... Going into the Sporebin folder in the directory I open the GL document. With many error reports this is the one that ****es me off the most: "For security reasons, only a limited number of concurrently active licenses are allowed. This limit has been reached. Please wait until one of the other licenses auto-expires, then try again." Every god damn EA game has given me one problem or another, but this is unacceptable. We don't spend our money to have a portion of our life wasted on writing complaints on a freaking forum... Screw you EA!!!!!!!!! |

I can't imagine a family having to buy 7 copies of a game that will be installed on one single PC. Come on EA fix this horrible mistake on your parts. |

for anyone who missed the post.... look into nforce4 drivers / windows family safety for "could not connect to spore server" issues to everyone else, apart from update everything locally theres very little you can do, i know the ea spokesperson will refute this, however ive played and bought alot of games over ea's life span, i know how bad each release is and how many patches are required, i know games which are just abandoned when still in need of fixes, if this is your first experience with EA, get used to it. It really is that simple, no thats not unfair thats from experience with ALOT of EA games. As for the person answering the technical solutions, no offence but how quickly could you whip up an app to fully test between client and spore servers, ports etc and data transmission. help users quickly determine the area of the fault, (actually scrap that, the tool wouldnt work and would require 7 or so patches) (oh and to boot, your buddy system is not working), These people are angry, imagine if you got a hotel room but your door key wouldnt work and the lobby manager said.... well get back to you (with no real resolution for days). You'd go mental in no time at all EA is big, it has the cash to handle this better than it is, and its failing its customers, gamers will accept a certain level of incompetance, but these users cant even play your game offline. How can it be studios like Valve, Cryptic etc provide better customer service than the industry's financial heavyweight??? Anyways for all you wonderfull UK fans, we are protected by the Sales of Goods Act, the product must be "fit for the purpose it was intended", take it back to the shop, get a refund. Its not a good solution... but its the solution EA deserve, because by the looks of it their programmers skipped the modules on testing whilst being educated. Look on the bright side, with a refund and maybe buy it in 2 months itll probably be £19.99 by the time its fixed..... sorry my bad i forgot it was EA again i meant £19.99 and mostly fixed. I wouldnt expect my food to be sold 'mostly killed', i wouldnt want to buy a new car thats 'mostly built', a movie thats 'mostly filmed', a cd thats 'mostly recorded'. So i sure as hell dont want a game thats 'mostly working' |

Iv just got off the phone with an EA "agent" with regards to the login failures with Spore and have felt the need to create an account so that i can say GOD, I LOVE UBISOFT!!! The "agent" had little idea of the problem and what to do. After spending 25 minutes on the phone giving all sorts of needless information his advice was to "wait a couple of hours", I've been doing this since friday. Im not impressed at all.
