After over 12 hours I have finally had something that makes it at least seem like something is working

“The code for this installation is invalid and cannot be used to link this product to your account.”
Meaning what? The games only been installed once and was not even able to register it before so it can’t be that

I got that too, hopefully this wont turn out like AOC CE turned out for thousands of players(wrong cdkeys were printed on the manuals). First they told ppl to call the retailer, and ofcourse the retailer couldnt do anything about it, then they added an email address on the registration site and told ppl to contact them through it(they took it off a few times and changed the instructions a few times so I ended up sending them 3 emails). And finally a few days later I got a working cdkey. Cant remember if it was an EA release though. Propably wasnt but I just wanted to tell u that things like that can happen and hopefully this time its not a problem with the cdkeys :P

I don’t think it’s a complete fail of the CD-Keys as I entered the wrong one first and it came up saying enter it again but the EA database could have an error. No matter how hard you try you always get one letter/number wrong first time.

Now I get a new message. Something like "you dont have the correct spore.com priviledges". My game is in finnish so I'm not sure what it would say on english versions.

Edit: How do I change the language lol.

That comes up after getting a cannot link error and then trying again. Restart spore and chances are you would get a cannot link error again

edit: reinstall and select english??

I think the title of this thread should be changed to "Polinated content, my ****!!", given that he most polinating my content has been doing is switching between my hard drive and the RAM modules sitting in my PC.

This thread is going to explode in a few hours with thousands more people ****ed that they can't get online given most of Europe will wake up to the release of Spore and find they can't get online!

*EA Ducks for cover* as *Europe throws **** @ them*

edit: Just to add that i too am also now getting the same errors as you guys, firstly about the invalid code, then on second attempt the invalid privilages error.

I had the "unknown error occurred"-problem yesterday and I could not login. Now it tells me my registration key cannot be validated...

I'm in Finland and I have the Galactic Edition.

Windows Vista Home Proffesional 32-bit
Galactic Edition.

I for one wont get ver aggrovatd with this, since i can still play the game. It'll probably be fixed soon enough, just sit back, relax, and wait - if not ,there are tons of games you could play meanwhile.

Yesterday I had the message "Invalid Login" when trying to connect. Now I have a different message when trying to log in: "The code for this installation is invalid and cannot be used to link this product with your account".

I am assuming they are referring to the code on the back of the manual that you have to type in before installation. However, I assumed I typed the code correctly as the install programme allowed the installation after I input the code!

Just to clarify, I have a legit Galactic edition game, paid £44.99 from Game for it.

Anyone else getting this?

EA really need to sort something.

I have exactly the same

“The code for this installation is invalid and cannot be used to link this product to your account.”

message, but I'm not running Vista, so at least it's not down to the operating system! I'm sure it'll be fixed soon enough.

Oh and the game was preloaded from EA Downloader.

Code for this installation is invalid... GE. Why can't the servers just say an error has occurred, it's the faulty statements that sucks. Means someone might've messed up big and it's gonna take alot of time to figure it out.
