That would be my point as well

They have to figur something better out then that since its a large group of people and not just a few..

That guy wasn't having the same problem, he got his CD key rejected when he was trying to install the game, not after installing it. Don't think it was a motion for the rest of us to get onto the support line.

downloaded full game from EA manager installed ok...launched game tryed login in but said failed to login you do not have the right privileges to spore.com? i even tryed creating a new account but said invalid key?

I wish people would stop quoting this as being a Galactic Edition specific problem. Not specifically here, all over the web wherever people are bringing it up, it's being investigated as a Galactic Edition problem. It isn't. It's a Spore problem. People with vanilla Spore, both downloaded from the EA store and purchased in a shop, are all having the same issue. And if a solution does eventually arise, for the Galactic Edition specifically, since this is where most seem to claim the problem lies, I'll be even more disgruntled thlalalalalalaou GE owners are now.

I handed 40 quid or pounds of my money over for a GENUINE copy of your company's game to then have this problem is like a slap in the face.

Considering how easy it is to pirate PC games. Games these days should at least be free of these ridiculous problems otherwise your just damaging the value of your product in the eyes of consumers.

Just spoke to EA on the phone, they're saying it's a know issue (obviously) with the spore servers not being able to authenticate cd keys. I asked them for an ETA but they wouldn't give me one and just suggested to keep trying and watching the website for updates.

They wouldn't give me another cd key either.

Agreed, I've seen several posts from people with downloaded and vanilla editions reporting the invalid login/can't validate installation key issue. This is not just a Galactic Edition problem.

FYI I rang customer services, gave them my key and reported the issue. The tech support guy went away for a bit, came back and said they think it is probably a server issue and I should call back if it isn't fixed in.... 48hrs

People would if anyone at all had reported a problem with the standard edition purchased at a physical retailer. On these forums all that's been posted is that Galactic and digital versions of the game don't work, while on the contrary several people have said standard edition works fine. If it's being investigated and solved as a Galactic and digital issue, rest assured that's because people with the standard edition are not reporting it. If not one of them is posting it on the forums, I'm sure they're sending tickets to EA, and EA are aware that it's a global issue. (I've been following this since yesterday and seen most every post. Also EA never said it's a GE or digital download issue.)

I have a galactic edition and have had the invalid login message for the last 24hrs and now have the 'registration key used to play this game cannot be validated' message.

I understand that people are upset by not being able to login, but you know you can still play the game in offline mode with a full range of creatures already?

Just cancel the registration and select new game, it will still work.

I've been playing for hours and it's a blast :-) I'm sure this issue will be worked out in a period of time and until then go and play thing!

just adding my name to the list..

i have the galactic edition too (im from germany).

yesterday when i tried to login with my old CC account it just brought up the "invalid login" everytime. when i tried to register a new account it brought up the "unkown error during registration" [even tho the acount was created and im now using it to write this here]. now when i try to register a new account it says this cd key cannot be used to blablabla...

so today i tried to log in and it brought up the "invalid cd key" message, after that i immed. tried to login again but this time it brought the "no privileges" error.

iv got the "You do not have the proper Spore.com privileges to use this product's online features" message coming up. i got mine from the ea websiter via their download manager.

Ok guys, a quick heads up.

I've just uninstalled and reinstalled the game... upon entering my key, my firewall asked for Spore(TM)_Code.exe (From the DVD Drive) to be allowed access to the internet... This is part of EA's "Unified Registration Code Installer Program" which appears to act as an authentication source. Beforehand (After my first install) these were denied access. I'm currently installing again now with all firewall access to SPORE and EA related programs allowed full access rights... will tell you if this works.
You might also want to make sure the EADM is installed properly and that EA Core is added to your registry. Make sure you're firewall has access to this and that it is running in the background when clicking the spore executable... Well here goes the program execution...

Update: Nope, didn't work... damn it! lol
