I just got an even more weird problem, "You can not use letters or digits as a screen name" LOL and I also only used letters.

But now it's back to good ol' "Reg. key invalid" IE. The first problem I encountered.

I get the same problem with the message saying that the key is invalid and have the galactic edition of the game running windows vista and has the creature creator installed and working fine until this uninstalled the creature creator and installed itself.

LeeMortis is right, they need to make an official announcement and get as big a team as possible working in fixing this right now. Despite the fact people can get on and play fine, others (us) can't... and we paid the same as them, if not more (for GE version) and feel pretty much like we're getting screwed over.
Relax. I doubt that EAUK_Omni is sitting alone at a PC in a cubicle inside a warehouse sized building trying to fix this.
Rooting out what the actual problem is takes time, so does fixing it.
The best thing to do is to try and give feedback / help solving the problem instead of saying there is a problem. They know that by now.
Also...anyone with half a brain knows they should check the forums when they are having issues. Very little companies post massive issues on the front page of their webpage.

I'm sure he is sitting alone in a "warehouse sized building" reading your post and being like .. "Yes Right.. Not alone.." xD Nah :P Anyway from what i can see then he knows what the real prob is and hopefully he is attempting to fix it along with a few others or have send it onto some one that can fix this

You can be damn sure the problem will be sorted before the damn yanks get spore. Maybe this was EA's staggered release plan all along. They do so seem to enjoy stuffing over their European customers... But in fairness they arent unique in that.

lol i know... its the frustration showing itself... believe me, i'm a software programmer, i know about ****ty issues that take hours to locate and fix. It would just be nice to have a little more acknowledgement. Anyway, i'm gonna head out for a while, hopefully when i get back this thread is closed with a big fat (or small) solution posted, or simply a message saying "fixed, happy evolving people =)"

Hi, same problem here. Vista, GE, from Spain. I´m not so much worried about WHEN this will be fixed, but if it CAN be fixed at all, and we haven't all thrown away the money. Forgive my english...

It would appear that EA hasn't actually TESTED the Galactic Edition, before charging us a whole lot of money for it

I can just imagine if Maxis were seeing these problems... Will Wright would have the biggest face-palm in history going on right about now! lol

Also...anyone with half a brain knows they should check the forums when they are having issues.

And still this is the ONLY forum where there is ANY word from an official EA representative. I do not frequent this particular forum, while I do check out many others and in particular the official Spore.com forums, which is where any person with half a brain would think to check first.

That is where announcements need be made.

Enough of that though.

So the reg key seems to be alright. What about during installation? Did everyone install ok right from the start? Just wanting to investigate that as my installer froze on me the first time I tried, and I had to reboot the computer - but it froze right as the installer was initializing, so it never got to the point of extracting files, so I very much doubt that could be the cause.

The only logical solution though that I can think of would be that a number of CD-Keys simply have not been registered with the servers - or that there was a problem when at first we got the invalid login problem, that our three install limit was used up as we kept trying to log in.

So - I guess part of the question here is - did anyone who suffered the "Invalid Login" problem yesterday successfully log in when that issue, for most of us, was replaced with the invalid code thing?

Yep, another Galactic Edition version unable to log on with the not-so-delightful "You do not have the proper Spore.com privileges to use this product's online features." message.

First, I don't get my discount for pre-ordering and buying creature creator via EA downloader. Then EA blatantly ignores my direct queries regarding that (Direct to their MANY PR manager email inboxes aswell as the official tech support channels. SOMEONE has to have read it by now but still chose not to respond. Jerks.). And now this. Seriously bad taste in my mouth right now. You'd think by now EA would be able to cope with a game launch without alienating all their customers. Even labotomized dogs learn faster than this.

yep. I get the invalid code message too. I'm running GE edition. I took 2 days off work to play this and I can't even log in! Sort it out EA. This is highly unprofessional.
