Spore Patch 5

To get the patch, simply launch Spore. PC players will need to have EADM installed.

If you didn't install the EADM when you installed Spore, you can download it here. This patch is available for PC. Mac users should check back soon.

Spore Improvements:

Asymmetry is now available for creatures! Details on new Asymmetry features for Creatures and Vehicles can be found here.
This patch fixes several crashes in Space Game.
Many tuning improvements to Space Game, including reduced disaster rates at all levels of difficulty, adjustments to Hard Mode, increased limits on concurrent trade routes, as well as changes to tool unlocks for the Knights.
Creator Lineage appears correctly for all creation types shared after this patch is installed.
Cheat is included that permits Creators to export creatures in Collada format for use in Maya. Creators must acknowledge and accept a Tools EULA to perform this operation. An additional cheat has been provided to enable highest quality textures to appear on vehicles, where it is supported by user hardware.
Fixed a problem where creations would go missing if a user quits the game in any way while downloads are in progress.
Fixed a bug where achievements were disappearing.
Fixed a bug where some Sporepedia cards had corrupted backgrounds.
Fixed a problem in Space where some Grox planets were unreachable.
YouTube movies now publish as public

Galactic Adventures Improvements:

This patch must be installed again after installing Galactic Adventures, even if you have installed this patch previously.
You can now place the avatar, NPCs, and handheld objects on top of air, land, and sea vehicles in the Adventure Creator. Get more info here.
Improvements are made to the Adventure Creator, including right-click camera behavior, and User Interface enhancements.
In EP1 open gates were not working correctly when they were disguised
Some customer-reported crashes in Galactic Adventures have been fixed.

This looks great! But I'm having problems installing the Patch. I'm not getting a prompt to install it when I start Spore.

I havent installed it yet but I cant wait! I might even tweak some of my old things to look assymetrically enhanced! Funny thing is, last night I created a vehicle thats got one wheel on one side using the centre glitch or something (I dont know it just worked) and I thought it would be a good assymetrically glitched vehicle being my first. I was so proud of myself and now everyone can do it!lol

I was really looking for to the assym last night. Spent ages downloading and installing everything. Tried again today. I've had non-stop crashes and given up

Ahwell, I can wait tomorrow...

This sounds great! Lol, when i saw the first line about assymetry, then read about less disasters and fixing the crashes in the space stage, I nearly seriously thought you were kidding. :P
It's too good to be true, and... And? Why do I go away in the middle where I am writing? Argh, typical, now I forgot what I was going to say...

Lucky me I guess.
Installed it after a fresh and clean spore installation after getting me a new PC. Backed up all my creations beforehand and still have everything.

Love the patch!

Too bad I forgot to back up my games though.........
Ah well starting a brand new stellar empire will be fun.

i didnt know what patch did before dekdes made some creature in spore O_o i rushed to the creator and made some suckish creature with assymetry! ALL HEIL HITLER! -- wait err i mean...

So much for the new patch, I can't play spore anymore as 5 minutes into the game (sometimes less) It crashes.

The way I see it EA can either fix the patch or give me the money back that I've spent on this game.

GET THE PATCH WORKING EA!

Okay its been good with the Asemetry, no need for the horrible glitch methord anymore! But now if i spend long periords of time in any building (maybe other editors, hav'nt tried them after patch yet.) i crash and now there are also stupid crashes in game... Has'nt ruined my game completly just slightly annoying.

during installation of the patch, it said there were some problems. i had to abort the patch. consequently, i cannot view any of my, or other peoples, creations in the sporepedia. any help?

exactly what happens to me, however mine are much short time periods.

I've fixed it, its a graphical problem, after my install of GA i forgot to set everything to High in the graphics settings, i did and raised the graphic cache. I used to get jerks and the crashes now i dont.

Hi,

I installed patch 5 yesterday, which caused a crash and multiple errors.

I uninstalled Spore completely today and then reinstalled it, but now I can't log in or create another name.

I have entered all of my passwords correctly many times, and then went onto the Spore support site to look for help. When I was presented with the screen: enter username and password I clicked on the link for them to re-send me my password, just in case I was being a doughnut.

The emails never arrived, I CANNOT log-in to Spore because I get 'error logging in' and I CANNOT log-in to the website for help becuase it will not recognise me. I know that my username and password are correct because I am logged in here!

Very exasperating, and I don't know what the hell else to do. It loks like Spore has gone for good.

It looks like the Spore servers are currently undergoing maintenance. There's a post about it in the Sporum, here. I just checked spore.com myself, and I can't log in, so I'm guessing that's what your problems today might be...

Right, right, thankyou. Just prevented me from building a bonfire of all EA stuff.

I'm in the UK, so I'm guessing that 2AM PDT time is PAcific time? That would make it eight hours behind.

So i raised my Cache, it's reduced the problem, but it's not gone
