Maxis Teams with Adult Swim's Robot Chicken Writers to Create Hysterical Adventures for Spore Galactic Adventures Available at Launch Guildford, UK – May 19, 2009 – What do planetary rest stops, man cannons, and banana monkey wars all have in common? They’re all elements of Adventures created by the Robot Chicken writers exclusively for Spore™ Galactic Adventures, the highly-anticipated expansion pack for the critically acclaimed videogame, Spore. Maxis™, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) studio, today announced that the Adventures created by writers from this outrageously funny, Emmy award-winning TV show will be available as free downloadable content when the game launches June 23. The campaign was conceptualized by Robot Chicken co-creators Seth Green and Matt Senreich and executed by the writing team including Matt Beans, Doug Goldstein, Mike Fasolo, Breckin Meyer, Dan Milano, Tom Root, Kevin Shinick, Hugh Sterbakov and Zeb Wells. With such a unique cast of imaginative characters, players can expect to experience missions with exploding poo, angry yetis, ruler yielding librarians and more! “We’re big fans of Spore, so teaming up on Spore Galactic Adventures was a natural fit and so much fun for all the guys at Robot Chicken,” said Seth Green, co-creator of Robot Chicken. Co-creator Matt Senreich continued: "We're all gaming geeks, so when the Spore guys said they had an alluring proposition for us, how could we say no? Instead of creating absurd worlds with toys, this gave us the opportunity to create literally anything we wanted as gamers. Geek moment. We think that RC fans will love the pretty random and absurd adventures we created and we can't wait to goof around with the ones the fans create." “Gamers and Adult Swim fans alike are going to absolutely love the hilarity found in the Robot Chicken missions created for Spore Galactic Adventures,” stated Kip Katsarelis, lead producer of Spore Galactic Adventures. “Our development team had a blast working with the guys and couldn’t stop laughing the entire time we were together. Their Adventures truly reflect the extent of their wild imaginations as well as how the in-game Adventure Creator tool can create almost any type of story imaginable. Players can only guess the absurdity and fun that will ensue.” Spore Galactic Adventures adds a tremendous amount of variety and fun to the original Spore, allowing players to beam down to planets, play Maxis-created Adventures and create their own customized Adventures. Now players can get out of their spaceship and turn their creatures into legendary space captains, battling epic monsters in intergalactic arenas and fighting intense planet-side races along the way. In each mission, players earn experience to rank up their captain, gain game-changing items and accessories such as a Plasma Pulser and Swarm Magnet. Once the captains and Adventures are created, players can share go online to share with friends around the world at The Official Spore™ and Spore™ Creature Creator Site.

Wow, that's a long text... Or did the sky fall down?
Hmm. Ok, I'll read it. ![]() But I must still say one thing: NOW SPORE MADE THE "INTERGALACTIC"-FALIURE AGAIN! You can only play in one galaxy in Spore. A video game is not allowed to make that mistake! Ok, I'm not angry at anyone, but... It's just like insulting astronomy... And Science. |

It sounds lovely and everything but...am i the only person who thinks this is a shockingly bad idea? Why aren't they improving the vanilla? It's about evolution not doing quests, i want more variety on parts, parts that actually mean something, some actual importance given to the environment. The original was cool, yes i could make something pretty and funny but all it's grand claims of "evolving" your species well null, all you did was whack extra bits on it that made it look cooler. The only stage where your choice of parts really had an effect was the cell stage (the best bit in the game).
And now they offer this? This tacky half arsed attempt to revitalise the game? No thanks it wouldn't even work as a stand alone game, the only reason it will sell copies is because it's got the spore artwork bolted in to it. This in no way improves the game at all, a game which had a lot of potential but really failed in all it promised. |

Minigames might be cool. I can't wait for it to come out, even though I'm going to be camping at the time.
Oh well. There's going to be some brilliant adventures in there, by the sound of it.By the way- Lemon flavoured cow?! Fair enough... In fact, Awesome. |

FuzzyWerewolf: There's a thread on the US spore forums which covers the problem you are describing. Here is the link: Bad_Data name for planets and star systems after Patch 1.04
I hope it helped. |

Thanks for another fairytale for fellow naive believe-anything-and-get-hyped community! News story promised us another UNBELIEVABLY good feature, attracted attention to SPORE and boosted sales. Now where are 'robot chicken' missions? Disappeared in the dark! I don't know, maybe US players can get these missions, we here at Europe CANNOT! How long shall we believe developers who lie us on daily basis and don't deliver their promises?
Go EA, PROMISE us another expansion pack with another bundle of UNBELIEVABLY GOOD AND EXCITING, WOW-I-WANT-IT-ALL feature list, and watch my money disappear in the dark... Somewhere far-far away from your pockets! =))))) |

Sadly I deleted one more, so now I only have one left. But it looks like you don't really like anything about Spore... I think that's a little bit sad. |

So how do you get them? In case they are downloaded with Maxis missions, how do I find them? No clear instructions to date. O_O
TheBlaDK, I do like some things about SPORE. I just don't like how Spore developers and marketing team approach their customers. First they advertise and make promises then deliver none or 0.005% of them. That's not how good businesses approach customers. You either do what you say, or just stop saying junk and start working. If you promise things and don't deliver them - people will start to lose trust of you. There was good tale about boy who cried 'wolf!'. I wish EA management to google it and get some eternal wisdom. =) Last edited by Dan78; 29-06-2009 at 10:12 PM.. |

I don't know what exactly it is you don't like, only that you don't like the ads at all and think the game is overhyped. Hmm, most ads overhype their products, just look at the washing-up liquids. I don't know what they promised but didn't come with, except all the time they have said "intergalactic". Inter = more. International = more than one nationality. Intergalactic = more than one galaxy. But, there is only one. Hmm. But okay, I respect that, I'll stop going off-topic.

TheBlaDK: Jus look at the article that starts this thread. It states that some awesome guys created 'robot chicken' missions that will be available to SPORE players once GA comes out. Take note, this is official announcement, not just a rumor. If it was GOOD business, we should get these missions already. But nonethless, NO-ONE can clearly tell where to get them or at leas how do they look like. Yes, you can create some mission and name it 'Robot Chicken' and probably get some popularity, but WHERE are original ones, I ask you? NOWHERE. And the news story tells us that they will come FOR GRANTED. And did I forget to mention endless pre-release videos, interviews and press-conferences, starting with the infamous 2005 video?
