![]() SPORE EVOLVES WITH NEW CONTENT, GAMEPLAY AND TOOLS With more than 30 million player creations invading the Internet since the launch of Spore™, fans have let their imaginations run wild and soon players will be able to take their creativity and gameplay to even greater heights! We are pleased to announce the development of a Space stage expansion pack and Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack -- add-ons that will grow and evolve the critically-acclaimed video game, Spore. “Spore is an incredibly personal and customisable experience,” said Lucy Bradshaw, general manager of Maxis studio. “Many of our fans have asked us for even more tools to build with, while others are looking to extend their gameplay. As soon as we wrapped up Spore, we turned our focus to creating additional content that caters to fans’ individual tastes. With the cosmos as our backdrop, we can take Spore in almost infinite directions, constantly changing and evolving the experience.” Gamers will experience deeper Space stage gameplay with an expansion pack scheduled for release in spring 2009. For the first time, players’ space faring creatures will be able to beam down from their spaceships to explore new planets and earn rewards for completing challenging missions. A new Adventure Creator will allow players to build and share their own custom missions online, providing almost endless gameplay possibilities. The Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack, available in Europe from November 20th, 2008, provides more than 100 new creature-building components themed in two distinct styles—charming, cartoon-esque creatures and scary, monster-like creatures. Including body parts, paint options, animations, backgrounds and more, Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack allows users of Spore or the retail version of the Spore Creature Creator to give their creatures distinct personalities like never before! |

Nowhere does it say that the "Cute..." pack adds gameplay. The space expansion will though.

When I see the price i'll tell you if i'm happy
Parts-pack should be £4.99 - NC Soft booster packs for City of Heroes/Villains are this price and offer pretty much the same amount of features. The Spacestage Expansion will probably be £14.99 - If it is any more then I will probably move on to the next game. Time will tell.

I for one welcome any & all add-ons to spore.
I am concerned about the price structure for these add-ons. I can only imagine that they will all be in the $19.99 USD range for 'store bought / retail' items as there is all the packaging / dvd / cd / booklet etc. There should be an option to 'Download' for a price which would bring costs down to about a third or less in reality, but perhaps being 'out for the monies' a download version would prob' only save about 10 - 15%, but it would be 'quicker & easier' as a download. My problem with it as a possible download would be the fact that EA would want us to use their download manager, which as we know from other games & the recent patch for spore seems to be of no use, in fact creates many problems for a vast majority of people who play (just read any part of the forums & the biggest problem with the patch was it's delivery via EA's downloader). Given the option to download from a server to a folder of choice from a server or a mirror once paid for online I'd go that route, otherwise it will be the Retail Package route due to the problematic EA Downloader being as it is (and always has been across several games). So, I ask EA / Maxis: Retail & Download? Just Retail? If download is available, an option not to use the EA downloader? ================================================ Disclaimer: I have no problem with the game, no problem with the patch either (no problem pre-patch in fact). The only problem so far with Spore was the EA Downloader whilst attempting to patch the game (hence my comments in the main body of this post). Once I found the patch on a 'mirrored server' and was able to download to a place of my choice & handle the Patching manualy, all was good.

That bit sounds great, not too sure about the parts pack, depends on the price as to whether I buy. |

Just some extra parts 20$ ? Absolutelly not. I never liked Sims 2 for its unlimited extra packs, one more, and one more and one more and one more...
First the create a basic game then they start creating the extra content which most of the time its has no real value.. just little of this and little of this to make the game a little nicer. I wouldn't say no to extra packs if they were given for free to registered customers or at least to much smaller prices like 5-6$. I would pay 20$ but for a real expansion not extra pack. If they sell the pack 20$ imagine the expansion.. it will be 30$ or more. And not to mention the european prices are much more expensive. I really liked Spore before its release before I play it. Now I got it.. I paid 60euros for Galactic Edition and I feel so dissapointed because I see a poor game and EA is using it like another mega money game like Sims 2. |

i would just like to know why they're making parts for a game hardly any1 can play bug free? surely they should've spent their time making bug fixes for patch2 rather than making parts that tbh should've been included on games launch.
so here's my statement: NO ****ING WAY AM I BUYING THiS **** ADDON THAT DOES NOTHIN FOR THE GAMEPLAY AND THE BUGS ARE STILL RAMPANT AND MAKING THE GAME UNPLAYABLE FOR MANY INCLUDING MYSELF

Also the word "hardly" is incorrect, I think there are more people playing than getting errors. Lastly those complaining about how it won't affect gameplay, have you read the whole post? There's a GAMEPLAY expansion on the way too. |

Total number of users: 1982417 Total number of people complaining about bugs: ? There will be a large number of people with problems that have not come to this or the other forums to complain but I can't see it being as many as a million... Can you? And it would have to be a million for it to be 50:50. If there was "hardly anyone" being able to play bug-free then it would have to be 1.5 million users effected, would it not? Just a thought. |
