Spore Patch 1 Now Available *Mac version now available*

I downloaded the patch yesterday, now spore refuses to start AT ALL.
I've gone on to several different areas of my computer and it says that spore is still installed.
However, wherever, or whenever, i try to activate it and play spore, it wont blooming work.
The screen doesn't even do anything, it just refuses to acknowledge that i've clicked anything at all.
Personally, I think this patch is more trouble than it's worth, considering that it's gone and messed up my copy of spore, which i spent a good £35 on.

Patched the game, hangs and freezes the game alot more!!!! when is EA gonna fix the freezing and spore.exe error problems so we can play the game without haveing ctl alt and delete 15 times or more to get it to load just to find out every move you make, you need to give it the 3 finger salute!!!

I have a 5 star sony media centre (vista) which cost over £1200.00 and it cant run a £40.00 game!!!!

I have done all the suggestions that i could find either from forums and EA to no avail.................

Yet another disgruntled customer would like answers on a time scale of when these fixes will be addressed and patched

If any sony media centre owners know of any fixes for this please post here

i eventually got the patch fixed but it cost me 10gb of my hard drive did this happen to anyone else?

Game was running fine before the patch - now it crashes on cell stage when you try to mate - crashed in creature creator too - how can we uninstall the patch?

Think I may just do a system restore to before the patch...

same didn't have any problems b4 the patch n now it crashes ever 2 minutes even on a new game it crashes.

Never had problems before the patch and now it crashes loads in tribal and a few times in space (never happened before) and also the sound is now terrible - major delays in making any sounds for any actions performed in space, and loading creatures onto worlds seems to now take an age.
wish id never patched it as i wasnt suffering from too many disasters any way, can it be taken off?

Patch works ok for me. Its awkward when installing, takes about 30 mins pretending not to be doing anything, but the game is fine.

Nice one EA, you've got customers complaining like mad on your forums that the game won't run at all and you spend dev time tweaking stats. How about make the game run 1st and then **** about with stats?

So, how can I tell which version of spore I'm running? (v 1.0 or v1.1?) Cant seem to find anything in-game that will tell me! I downloaded the patch, and it said that it had installed sucessfully, but I can't find anything that confirms this in tthe game - but am still getting a lot of attacks in space stage!

Any help appreciated!

You guys should go onto youtube and check out the amount of bugs created from this patch.

-Tribal Leaders glitching into the orbit of the planet. (lalalala)
-Cell Creatures coming out of the meteorite invisible, and during the stage still invisible.
-Major lagging between sounds and actions in cutscenes.
-Constant crashing, computer error, Spore error.
-Planets terraform score reseting randomly.

Along with this , these errors are FORCING people to re-install Spore. I hope those people know you're only able to use the Serial Number inside the case THREE times. After this is becomes useless trying to install Spore, thus you have to buy a new copy. This is to remove the passing on of the copy of the game itself between people since you don't need the disc to play it, why not make simply make it so the disc needs to be in the drive?

I hate complaining like this but there are some serious problems here the creator has made for its own fans. Spore is becoming something far from user-friendly in my opinion, I'm glad my friends have warned me of this patch before I installed it myself and I hope anyone reading this heeds my advice towards not installing the patch.

It took longer to patch Spore than to install the game and then IT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM as SPORE STILL CRASHES to the task bar!

Please fix this problem!

Me too, [go to home world, successfully defend home world, go into orbit, planet under attack again, go straight back down] do we have to start a new game for updates/changes to take effect?

this happened to my bro as well, he had to roll back his comp to get SPORE to work and he haven't tryed to install the patch since

I finally got spore to work again last night but when I tried to run it today it's crashing again. What the frell is wrong with it? Why would it work some times and not others?

Just downloaded the patch, seemed to install fine, got back to the game and it told me to download the same patch again.

Thinking to do what the game says I followed what it said and my PC told me that it was already installed. Fine I thought.

Went into the game, ignored the plea to download the patch again and started a new game. Wherein it crashed...several times.

I've not been able to play Spore since. I can run the game but only to the main menu.

Patch installed. It did take longer than I expected to install, sitting on 0% for a minute or two. I haven't really noticed any problems either before installing the patch or after except for a single crash on the Space Stage after installing the patch.

For those of you that think your PC has frozen during patch install, be patient. As I said above, it takes longer to install than I expected. As some have said, in some cases it is taking in excess of 30 minutes to install the patch so it could be worth leaving it for a while before giving it up as a bad job.

I had no problems with patching took 5- 10 mins to complete haven't had any problems with it yet. post back if i do.
