This isn't an expansion or patch, it's a website. As far as I know, you do not need to download or install anything. I believe it works for all systems. At the bottom of the OP, I shall post a link to a contest thread in a moment.

I had a go with this. Pretty fun, I enjoyed it, but the spines were a pain to manage

It crashed my browser. -_- I'd been loading a video on another tab for the past half hour and was almost finished, now got to start again.

I'm steering well clear of CC2D.

Looks great. Reminds me of Spore:Creatures on the DS

I get the impression the hero game is based on that, and maybe the web mini game

I'm off to have a look

Of course not, but it's still something new to try out Many people are getting bored with Spore.

And I think Spore Hero is related to this.

That was really cool.

Imagine if they did a full blown 2d game. maybe a platform game or something

yeah, because Spore was always intended as a platformer...

Could they finish the first game before doing all that.

On the 2D spore creator thinggy, It doesn't list me as a creator under the sporepedia so I'm a little depressed by that, also there is no ordering system, no part flipping and awkward spine editing.

Despite all this, I love the stylised look to the creatures and think the 2D creator is a great idea!

EDIT: I'd buy a spore platformer if it was any good. (But they need to finish fixing the main game first like TheMrZ said).

For some reason that looks a lot more detailed (and like a fish) in 2D...

EDIT:

I'm experiencing an annoying glitch: I can't load any of my Creatures! Not even the most basic and simple ones that I made when Patch 3 and C&C didn't exist yet!

No disrepect to anyone who enjoys playing with that 2D creator, but I can't see the point of it myself. I mean it looks awful. Probably just me like!! I don't think I'll be bothering with it like.

well, the cave-paintings look it actually quite cool. You'd imagine it's what your tribal folks would draw on the inside of that hut.
