Found thsi video, whilst searching the internet. Don't think it's been posted before. Shows a little bit about the adventures themselves:

My glass is still only half full with GA I'm afraid, I keep just seeing flashy 'packaging'.
The first scene looks like something from Starwars, at quick glance, fantastic! But in closer inspection the lasers are just flashing across the scene and not fired by anyone or anything. In fact the characters still just 'emit' the rockets, which appear out of thin air immediately in front of them, rather then actually firing them from a weapon. I seriously hope that won't be the case with our main character. For me at least the success of GA will be measured by the content players create, which it self is limited by the sharing process and mechanics. And if a good adventure takes a week to produce, and only an hour at most to play through I expect, how many will there really be? If the sharing is entirely random as with current spore, then there will still be little point in playing the space game because 90% of the player created content will be jarring and arkward to the experience. GA is another good reason for sitting in the creator I expect, but still little reason to actually enjoy playing the game, and no closer to merging the creator, the social, and game-play elements into a single interactive media as per the original multiverse vision. Base line IMO is, that you cannot tack on linear content onto a sandbox, the sandbox needs to generate the tools to create that content otherwise the two work against each other. |

NiKtheALiEN, you're right, games are always just about selling the stuff, although I've seen some pretty amazing things out there, and MY expectations can only get better from here on onwards. |

Allright! Now EA has made 2 (two!) new videos about GA in the US Spore site. The other shows how to use adventures. and the other how to use terrafoming tools.
What Is Spore You can see from the vid that buildings are for real resizeable as they are being able to rotate also so that they are in the ground or so they seem to be "broken" you can also make buildings float in air. The editor seems to have also plenty of "fixed objects" so it seems very plausible to me that even the "crashed ship" object could be found. Unfortunately they didin't show in the vid if you can resize vehicles or jump on them. In terraforming video they show that you can make the planet really almost anykind you want. From T3 to the most horrible T0. You are able to change the weather, terrain, water level, time of the day, almost everything. If you find something you can't change, then tell us. |
