Where are my game saves?

I've upgraded my hard drive and reinstalled EVERYTHING, this takes forever but its worth it for the extra space...

i've installed spore again and copied accross all the old files expecting spore to find my old game saves but it doesn't.

can somebody please tell me where they are, I just can't find them.

You need the "my spore creations" folder from the my documents folder as well as the folder under:

XP:
C:\Documents and Settings\[Your Windows Account]\Application Data\SPORE

Vista:
C:\Users\[Your Windows Account]\AppData\Roaming\SPORE

You might want to copy the folder over but the save games are in the Games folder in there.

Be warned though: You need to patch your game up to the level it was previous for it to work and also since patch 3 people have noticed their creations being magically deleted by the game and suddenly everything is using a different creature file.

are you sure it isnt just microsoft purging a potential threat?

Thank you for this....I patched the game to V1 copied my files over and then updated to V3 and its all there working great...

Nope its a spore bug in either the main game with v3 patch or cute and creepy, at least 6 people have reported it so far in the tech support forum.

Luckily I have no problems.
Although has anyone got their Creature Creator ones succesfully transferred to Spore? Or did EA lie AGAIN..

No-one knows, no-one knows what causes it, people just load up spore and the creatures in their ingame sporepedia either:
a)Have X's on them
b)Look like something else entirely.

People affected said they installed patch 3 a bit before it started to happen, some of them installed C&C too, some said they reinstalled spore and copied their data over too. Either way, its odd...

When you have EA download manager the game should automaticly detect a new patch.
BTW, before you ask: Download manager is available from the site.
