Fantastic guide, but you got one thing wrong (please change it).

You can quite easily restart the space age. Just go to a new planet, select "space age" and select the species you were just using. You will notice that they have the same abilities, same looks, same archetype, in fact, all is identical except planet location.

Keep in mind this guide was created back when Spore first came out.

If you "restart" using the same species, do you keep consequence abilities?

There is ONE little problem about this guide though:
It sais that you just should ignore missions like "We`re being attacked! Help us!", but here`s a little true story from my game:

I allied a load of empires now, like seven! I am just cruising around... beepbeep! beepbeep! What`s this? It`s the Short Range Video Transmission Thingymabob! It`s form the Vulis Empire! "*Title* Shrooblord! We need your immediate help! We`re being attacked by the Turtok Empire!". OH NO! I MUST HASTE TO... beepbeep! beepbeep!
What? Another transmission! It`s from... Turtok Empire!"Enlightend *title* Shrooblord! We need your immediate help! We`re being attacked by the Vulis Empire!"
OH NO! NOW I`VE GOT TO CHOOSE! But I don`t want to choose... Vulis was my first sworn ally... but Turtok has incredibly cheap prices... plus they look funny...
Let`s just let them handle this by themselves... So I did. The battles got fought and I got contacted a several fifty times! Problem is though... When I came to the Vulis Empire for a mission, it said: "You failed missions -50!"OMG! THEY`RE GOING TO LOSE INTEREST IN MY ALLIANCE BECAUSE I WON`T HELP THEM WITH THE TURTOKS! THE SAME IS HAPPENING WITH THE TURTOKS! AAAHHH!!!

Eventually, the Turtoks had to bite the dust (them owning only one planet really helped with that).

So if you DON`T help those missions, they`ll start to dislike you more and more! This conflict was one week ago. It still sais -37 for the failed missions! It`s one scar that will take a long time to heal...

Once you get the mega pulse, enemies become nothing more than annoying coloured dots.

Allies are useful for the ships and cheap stuff though. My Spode allies are gradually killing all my other allies, I normally help (woop free T3s), my allies wont fight me until I actually destroy cities

Actually, I once took over all my ally's planets except their homeworld and they didn't declare war. They had +100 "you completed missions" (never wears off) and +15 "We like new acquatances". They also have -100 "You captured one of our systems" of course (capped at 100) then a slowly rising "Using harmful tools" starting at -13 or so, and rising to about -35ish. Then there was "scaring our citizens" which slowly rose up to -30. That means - 50... not in the war zone. That was it. I didn't have do destroy any ships, and I didn't find any need to destroy buildings. They declared war once I attacked their homeworld, of course, but by then it was too late for them to strike back.

So, the point is, backstabbing ftw

I find that all you have to do is pick off nearby colonies first (Fly over the city, drop bombs on it) which will slow down the Pillaging of your colonies, and then work your way in. i no longer have any allies in my local cluster, save those i uplifted

Yep, once you get mega pulse, mega laser or mega bomb you can go pretty insane.

It's fun, but to be honest it's fairly useless, for several reasons:

1. REALLY long reload time.
2. Really expensive (even producing at the best possible rate of around 10m per 10 minutes, it will still take a while to build up a good stock).
3. Early on, you want to capture stuff.
4. Due to the animation, it's surprisingly slow.

But if you don't then stabilise the atmosphere, they come right back.

In getting the "Civil Engineer" achievement today, I found two oddities:

1. There are some tribal planets with no other animals on. This makes it impossible to place a monolith for some reason.

2. I flew really low, then fired a monolith at a tribes main hut. The monolith flew through the hut, and began to fly into orbit. Realising that it was lost, I fired another Monolith, but as soon as it landed the other monolith decided to suddenly fall to earth. Two cut scenes played, and there were two monoliths, right next to each other, on the planet.

meh, i dont mind the attacks, I was at war with 3 empires, after a while i was surprised to hear one of them had stopped going to war with me :O and the other i had already reduced to only his homeworld, which i will perform a joint attack on with my allies later.

but ye the idea is to try and get your health and weapons up before launching proper attacks on other empires, just do constant missions and trades to get yourself some money, then when you have level 2 health and proton/mega proton missles you'l be pretty good in a fight.
