Is there anything you can actually do about them? Invading their planets one by one really doesn't seem like an option and the same goes for terraforming them. Their empire is just too huge.
As it is right now I'm unable to make peace with them again too so the game is kinda screwed. Not only do I have to fend off pirates and eco disasters but now there's the Grox destroying colonies too. |

once you get far enough and unlock the planet destroyer (can take some time without cheats) ok go to every planet and collect theese (also collect things to regen health and energy) once you have a good supply take out every planet in the center possable that the Grox hold afterwards you put colonies on the suriviving planets |

Basically it's an in-joke from the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. And before you ask "If forty-two is the answer, what's the question?" I can already tell you, there is none. Well, there is one, but it's never said outright in the books. |

Douglas Adams has gone on quote to say it has absolutely nothing to do with 6x9 being 42 in base 13. He says:

Reaching the center just takes perseverance, get lots of health and energy packs and good health for your ship. Then its just a case of jumping from system to system, clicking the repair thing as often as you can.
After I managed to get to the center I took the system closest too it, fortified it heavily with the uber turret thing and city defences. Then cleared out the nearest systems just to reduce attack risk. Since the rate of attack seems to be based on proximity its good to keep a sort of buffer zone around you, so destroy the cities rather than capturing. The easiest way is just to shift the temperature of the planet into T1 since that kills all the grox on it anyway. Admittedly I probably did spend too long doing this but I kind of enjoyed trying to survive in the ridiculous circumstances. Turns out the circumstances weren't as ridiculous as I thought because the grox rarely attack your planets if you keep a buffer around them and the uber turret handles it anyway. After a while a few planets with other races had reached tribal stage, so I advanced them to civilization, then wiped out all but one colour to get them up to space quickly. Then you can use them to trade with to get lower prices and they will spread out in the space cleared making things safer. In a few hours play most of the center is clear and the grox aren't much of a threat, probably the most fun I've had in space stage since the first half hour or so too. Unfortunately the best guess is that the Grox have more like 6000 systems, often with multiple planets, and unless you raise all the planets in a system to T1+, they can come back (I must have cleared out nearly 1000 Grox systems already, and there's still a lot of red nearby - I'm fighting out of the core to link up with my original empire). Add in the fact than some Grox systems are simply out of range of your furthest jump distance, and its rather less trivial to wipe them out than you make out. There are ways to do it (one guy on here has done it), but there's more to it than just bombing cities or terraforming.
