Spore Achievements?

Hello

I have looked at the achievements, and I have done many of them. Like going true cell phase on hard, and herbivore. I have also played all the phases, but Civ and Space wont be unlocked -.- I don't get the achievements! Any1 explain that?

Within the game you simply need to "My Stuff" and then "Achievements" to show a list of achievements. There are a few hidden secret achievements that are only revealed once you have completed them though. (Give it a week at most, there will be a complete list of achievements, including the secret ones, all across the 'net )

Yeah I'm happily surprised there are achievements, Not goin for them just yet though, I wanna "enjoy" the game to its fullest

I think the achievement server may be having some issues, I've also noticed that quite a lot of achievements I've obviously earned in game do not show up there any longer. I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that the game still tracks them and simply waits for the server to come back online.

Don't think they will show up. I did cell phase on hard earlier to day, didn't get the badge. But l8ter on I got some other badges, so I tried to play the cell phase on hard again, and then I got the badge. So I think you have to earn them again -.-

And if you go to my spore page, it says that I have sent postcards to allot of people, weird I doesn't get the badge - "Photographer
Send a photo or video to a friend from Test Drive mode"

Am I the only person who thinks achievements are completely and utterly pointless? I think I have about 8 or something, they just seem like a crappy attempt at increasing game replayability. =|

There are some funny achievements, "Afraid of flying" was one of mine I earned so far.

I wanna know how the hell you are meant to kill an epic creature in creature phase Believe me I tried and believe me I faaaaaailed >_<

yeah killing an epic does seem an issue. I tried to kill one with 4 guys in my posse, they were all my species and i'd got myself pretty high on the weapons. (though not completely maxed out) and we didnt even seem to dent him much before my allies were dead and i fled away lol.

Yeh ditto, I had rank 5 in all combat stats and as much health as I could stick on them and still nothing. I even tried luring them to other tribes but it just owned them too .

Acheivements don't count if you use cheat codes at any point in said galaxy. from the stage you first cheat to the current stage your on, nothing will count.

Mmm I've not touched the cheats yet, so I'm guessing I must have just been having connection issues. Oh well, I've been wanting to try a new cell stage creature anyway.

do cell stage on hard its great. (though i've only done it on hard lol) everyone chases you, i kept getting killed by all these tiny buggars, easy to kill when there was just one of them, but 8 chasing you is a dangerous thing lol.

The Achievements thing just annoys me. I find myself checking out my achievements and then I feel all annoyed that I don't have the ones other people have.

you got suvivor which i havent even been close to getting yet. (thats not dying in creature stage) though i bet your playing it on easy :P lol

I also want those fancy ones for completing levels in hard but I'm not trying that till I've completed the whole game at least once first.

One review I read said... "even the acheivements have acheivements", so there may be some secret easter eggs in there.

I've killed an epic.

Actualy I've done it twice. First time didn't count cause I wasn't the one that landed the killing blow. That really ticked me off as killing them takes about 45 minutes.
The trick is get level 5 jump, Glide and Spit. Find an epic. Makes sure to clear the area around (far around it) of any other creatures by driving them extint. Then go spit at it and fly backwards and lure it around in a circle in the area you cleared out while spitting at it. Takes ages (Should be possible to do in 25 minutes bit it will take more like 50 with all the running you have to do) but it will eventualy die. If your really lucky (depending on the epic creature) it will get stuck on a bush or somethign and you'll be able to just sit there spiting away at it.
Note it really helps to be an omnivore or herbavore as your belly will empty 4 or 5 times while doing this and having killed all the enarby creatures a carnivore will have nothing to eat. The only other trait that might be even remotely useful is sneak. Epics seem to be really bad at detecting sneaking creatures and if it gets too close it might save your life (If you die the epic goes back to full helath). Dont worry about spending DNA on health boosting parts either. If an epic touches you then you die. Doesn't matter how much health you've got. I actualy got the high flyer achievement (or whatever it's called = Fly more then 200... Units of measurement) when an epic grabbed me and threw me half way across the globe where I got eaten in mid air (nearly high enough to leave the atmosphere) by the sea beast that eats you when you go over deep water.

There's an easier way:
Find 2 epics. Get them close to each other, wait 30 seconds for one to kill the other, then go and kill the remaining epic. I've done it twice, first time I thought "Oh ^&*# I've got 2 epics on me!!!" followed by "Wait... they're attacking each other? Sweet." That time the surviving epic was at 60 health. Next time, it was at 90. I used spit to take him out, mostly. I also found that on hills, epics will sometimes get... "stuck". They aren't really stuck, they just stop until you move again. I used this to just pound on him with spit.

the thing about using cheats and not getting achievements...do those that count on unlocking stages? cause i have not unlocked any stages and ive played throught 2 games, from cell to space (i cheated in both of them though) can anyone help me?
