nice to see mention a little more of what the super powers are...woo fireworks! :P

I'd love to go through cell as mostly social, and switch straight to carnivore afterwards. siren song is a useful superpower...send them to sleep and run when you're in trouble...or give you a free first hit :P

Ohh, lots of juicey info here:

-You can be a social predator and visa-versa
-You gain 1 super-power for each stage to come (in cell you earn 4, creature 3 ect)
-You gain brain power as you play rather than when you evolve.
-You only spend a few seconds as a baby, once you've learnt what your new moves look like you grow up

cell stage - no supers
creature stage - 1 super
tribal - 2 supers
civ - 3 supers
space - 4 supers

does that sound about right? when you pass cell, you get a super power for all of the following stages. Pass creature and you get another power for each stage. so the more stages you play through, the more super powers you have in the space stage

Seriously, "Um" must be the catchphrase of the entire Maxis staff. Still, good videos.

I always assumed that it was possible (If not ideal) to be a social carnivore. In fact, I'd be close to outrage if it wasn't, what with so many examples of social predators in nature, wolves, lions and the like.

It says that the content at the start of the creature phase is mostly maxis. Maby some creators should make some simple creatures with low complexity so that it is not just maxis stuf that occures at the start of the game.

i've made lots of low complexity creatures, thinking along the exact lines that by your nest at the start will be simple creatures hopefully more people will see my creatures that way too

I'm a lalalala public speaker myself, but I still LOL'd at this.

And I much prefer "um"s to the "you know"s of many Americans.
Spore is a computer game, you know, about the evolution of your character, you know, and you eat and mate and stuff, you know, and there are five phases, you know, with different but always cool gameplay.

The function is the same, a sort of pause while trying to figure out the next thing to say.

On topic:
I got videos to watch now, thanks.

If any of you still hunger for information. Google up "mars" and read the wiki =) .. i just read the whole page. I love reading about planets and galaxy. So many information to discover in space.

i wish nasa had an easier way to keep up with their space programmes though, i check there every six months or so to see what new stuff they are doing or have found, its all very interesting but not really user friendly for the average info hound.
