Hey all,

With the release of Spore closing in we'd like to give 3 of you a chance to win a copy of the game but not just any copy, a Galactic Edition. To bag yourself a copy what you need to do is answer this simple question:

Spore is made up of five games, each corresponding to a stage of evolution. What is the second stage called?

We're allowing one entry per person.

Terms and Conditions
Spore COmpetition

1. General

The opening time of the competition is Thursday 14th August 2008 at 12:00 GMT, and the closing date and time for receipt of entries is Tuesday 2nd September 2008 at 9.30 GMT Entries submitted after this time will not be considered.

2. Restrictions

This Prize Draw is open to UK residents aged thirteen ( 13 ) and over only. Employees (and members of their immediate family) of “Electronic Arts” (“EA”) are not eligible to enter.

3. Rules to participate

No purchase of any goods or services is necessary to be eligible for entry into this Prize Draw.

For a chance to win, entrants must:

PM (Private Message) the answer to EAUK_Competitions
Only one 1 entry per person will be accepted.

4. Prizes

Three (3) winners will be drawn randomly by the EAUK Admin team from all valid entries to each win a copy of Spore Galactic Edition on PC.

Odds of winning a prize depend upon the number of eligible entries.

There are no cash alternatives to this prize. It is as stated and is non-transferable. If due to circumstances beyond the control of Electronic Arts (EA), EA is unable to provide the stated prizes, EA reserves the right to award a substitute prize of equal value. All prizes are subject to the terms and conditions of the Promoter.

5. Results

The three (3) winners will be notified in the associated forum thread within 48 hours of the competition ending.

If the winners of the prizes cannot be traced after reasonable efforts have been made by EA, EA will be entitled to select an alternative winner from among the entrants.

A full list of who won will be available for four (4) weeks following the day of the selection of winners. This list can be obtained by writing to UK CRM Team, Spore forum competition, Electronic Arts, Onslow House, Onslow Street, Guildford, Surrey, GU1 4TN.

Any entry, which is damaged, corrupted, defaced, late, incomplete or otherwise does not comply with these rules, may be deemed invalid at the sole discretion of EA. Proof of sending will not be deemed to be proof of delivery. EA cannot be held responsible for lost entries

If proof of age is requested, the prize shall not be dispatched unless proof of age is received and if satisfactory proof of age is not received, EA reserves the right to choose another winner.

Entrants agree that they may be required to take part in publicity without further consent or payment. Such publicity may include their names and/or likeness.

6. Data protection

In order to participate in the Prize Draw, participants must provide certain information on themselves. This personal information is collected and processed only for the purposes of organising, running and monitoring this Prize Draw, as well as for carrying out publicity activities on it. The organising entity shall be considered the data controller for the database containing this personal information.
By entering this Prize Draw, entrants agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and by any other requirements set out in the promotional material, which may be amended or varied at any time by EA.

In the event of a dispute, the decision of EA shall be final and legally binding. No correspondence will be entered into.

Well it ends on the 2nd of September and it said you have to allow 48hrs for the winners to be read out. So thats the 4th at the latest (im assuming thats 9:30AM GMT they ment, if not then it may aswell be the 5th haha). So it depends on how long it takes to get everything sorted once you know you're a winner, then it depends on how long the postage takes.

Personally I wouldnt be expecting to get it on release day if you win... but if you did then it would be a good surprise!

EDIT: forgot to say, Even if you've already pre-ordered you will find out before you recieve that copy anyway so if you won you could just sell on your pre-order unopened which would be better than ending up with 2 copies haha.

This Galactic Edition will contain the 'Making of Spore' DVD, ‘The Art of Spore’ hardback mini-book, a fold-out Spore poster, and a premium 100-page Galactic Handbook. The Galactic Edition will also feature a DVD documentary from the National Geographic Channel called “How to Build a Better Being”.
