It has done nothing.

Well if collecting private data is nothing, if disabling any virtual device is nothing, if wait for days to authenticate the game till find a working server, is nothing, if puting a worm in your PC is nothing (cause only like worm can tell any data that install to my PC and collect my data)
then you're right, DrM did nothing to your PC.

It seriously has done nothing...
I don't care if EA collects my play stats, the only people who do need to get over themselves and realise that its hardly 'private' information.
I notice its the same few people complaining over and over again... you just hold grudges against EA or something?

I think i have said this before, but, i had a computer malfunction from starforce (a format and reinstall of windows fixed it, only a software malfunction), securom is getting more and more like starforce, i dont want another starforce, securom is even getting conflicts whit its own versions.. (Fallout 3 as a example)

I have both the Galactic edition i bougbt, and i have tried a dl version, i inserted my legal key in the dl version. guess what version i have had most problems whit? the legaly bought galactic, currently, i have a reproduceable CTD, so probably i should yust install a dl version once i get of my rear to find one that is version 1.3. so i can play spore agin.

that's balls.
The hell is it recommended to format this often. Formats are somewhat, harmfull to the system. No one should ever format there computer this often. hmmm. this limitation of key is 3. I had the game, installed it on 3 computers, 3 of wich online worked, the fourth one it never.... but, in saying that, fools put serials up on the net wich may work....

Why not? it doesn't hurt the system at all, may adds a bit more wear on the harddrive if you full and secure wipe it every time but other than that I highly doubt it.

Yes because it reached the limit, if one of those PC's fails you will be stuck.

That would be piracy and also that key probably wouldnt activate due to the sheer amount of people who have likely to have found it too. If you can find it you can bet at least a thousand other people did too.

Not particularly sure what I said that called for that remark.

Ignore him....again....

He clearly had nothing constructive to say.

I've not followed this forum for a while, but I was here when the whole DRM thing kicked off. I'm just popping in to see if EA have changed anything about the DRM in spore or is it still the same?

I've been wondering the same thing. I promised myself a long time ago that I would never buy another EA came that came bundled (or should that be bungled?) with invasive forms of DRM like SecuROM. It's a shame too as I really want to play Red Alert 3 and Spore to see what all the hype was about.

Ryster: RA3 was a dissapointment, just keep playing RA2. Spore is rather unstable and has to be uninstalled often, so it will whittle down to 0 installs rather quickly.

DRM hasn't changed at all.....

Sigh... let's hope they learn something for the final installment of the C&C franchise, C&C 4.
