lalalala the anti-christ is here. We know that EA dont really care, that was sarcasm. Listen I'd much rather be proven wrong about all this and SecuROM actually turning out to be completely benevolent, as then i could play Spore, but i doubt i will be

Sure, same here... I said multiple times that I would like to purchase Spore if it wasnt for the SecuROM or 3 activations limit.

OMG lalalala.

Did you see him guys, did you? Or was it a mirage. A EA representative. I was expecting to see the reappearence of the dinosaurs before one of them reared their ugly heads.

I said if we kept opening new threads on the 3 install thing it would deter people buying and maybe even get them listening. Well it has achieved that but check out the timing of their reply.

EA Aurora said "your views are being noted and passed on"

Bloody brilliant. Noted and passed on to the correct department after the game has gone GOLD with the secuRom software being burned to disc with the release of spore as we speak. You are NOT going to get browny points EA saying you are listening after the game has gone gold. You should have removed it and made changes to your philosophy before this point!

So maybe these threads cropping up all the time will have an impact on EA sales...... SWEET!

Wow. Only cause i say what they might think is logical makes me anti-christ? Must be a new rule in life than. Anyways, i love how evryone here wants to attract the attention of EA staff. You all evin me are just one needle in the bunch. And they only cause about the most worthy ones. They dont want spam. And think in it. What wold you do if you wold be high ranked EA staff. Wold you talk to evry single one of the thousand waiting for a reply here? Or wold you only talk to the ones with the most point. -- And i think what they are doing is right. Why shold they talk to any of us? It wold just lead to further confusion or dummy flamers.

I have nothing against the mods here, theres only so much they can do. Theyve obviously been told to keep quiet, and its their superiors who i have a bone to pick with.

And as to your point about "most worthy customers" I've got about 12 EA games, each bought new, so thats about £360 ive pumped into EA and now they treat us like criminals. Sorry metro anti-christ was just a figure of speech. You have the right to your own opinion but you did come out with your guns blazing calling 12 year olds or whatever, you implied that we were ignorant

protecting themselves against piracy isnt exactly treating us all like criminals. stores and shopping centres security tag their products...you wouldnt go in and complain about it claiming they dont trust you lol

thats because the security tag doesnt infect me with a disease or the like. SecuROM indescriminately bullies pc's, its a known fact.

No, what i actualy wanted to state is 13 year old behaviour. Actualy its a matter of inteligence. And, do you think by buying their games you support them? haha.. dont be funny. A support for them wold be giving ideas and offering them your programmer skills. Untill you dont give them a major idea and something to show that its a really good and POSSIBLE idea, your just a costumer. Nothing less and nothing more. Just a person who bought their products.

Lets see... If I were a high ranked EA staff... Hmm... Honestly, I would make an announcement that EA will be taking SecuROM off of Spore and all coming EA products and I would ignore the pirates because they are not customers anyway and I would try my best to provide good quality for my customers.

Which is what EA needs to keep in business... you just contradicted yourself... And just so you know, it isnt a matter of intelligence otherwise we'd already have won. We know what dangers securom pose because we've researched it and experienced it. Where did you learn about secuROM?

Well. Thats a point. But, a game without a good copyprotection software is like an 24/7 open door into your house. While there are big fat hackers downlaoding games illegaly, there will be mean copyprotection systems trying to prevent them going in their house ( that wos methaphoric btw )

I know, and ive read the reports of damaged PC's etc...you have every right to complain just stating that EA arent treating everyone like criminals, because they really arent

and cheers...i felt the need to show a little support...and in all honesty i'm in a much better position than most in regards to securom...passwords etc being mis-used and im screwed, but i never use my Mac for anything financial or the like.

Continuing the metaphor, SecuROM doesnt stop the hackers as they come in through the window anyway, but the door is constantly shut to try and stop them, which ****es off the visiting neighbours and friends

BOOYAH :P

Sorry, seemed like the moment..

EA could be playing with us. It wouldn't surprise me if it turned out there was no SecuRom on the disk at all. Wishful thinking i know, but look at the facts. People have been sending off letters to game magazines, trading standards etc.

As that old saying goes, theres no such thing as bad publicity.

The more magazines write about it, the more people will check it out. About 50% will then see it for the first time and buy it, the other 50% will be disgusted.

But NO-ONE, outside of EA, knows for sure, so we cannot be certain yet. I will only be buying spore if i am satisfied with how it has affected others. But i do not know the future, so we will all need to wait and see...

Of course the alternative is, EA genuinely think that they are doing good, i know that they are not trying DELIBERATELY to p*ss us off, but thats what they are doing. And if thats the case, i doubt they will get rid of it off of the CD as it will be a pain in the Ars* for them, or they believe they are doing themselves a favour. I just pray they release a patch as it is against my morals to have to download illegal content.

I encourage you to read this article. I wasnt the first to think about ignoring pirates. Look at this ---> PC game developer has radical message: ignore the pirates

Exactly, i believe this version of SecuRom has hardly been tested, so there will be no middle ground, it either works safely, or goes on a deleting spree with your harddrive.

The inpredictability is whats making me shift uncomfortably.
The 3 activations is making me annoyed.
