Exactly. I'm worried too. I haven't cancelled my pre-order yet but I'm definitely considering it (plenty of time for that, and I'm actually glad for the delay at the moment). It's bad enough if the internet's down, without not being able to play your games. I've (re)installed Sims 2 about 8 times so far due to new components, viruses, new computers (owned or borrowed) across 4 years or so. I'm now planning on buying a new computer, so I'd need to have bought the game 3 times. Hmm, that's fair

I cancelled my pre-order because of the copy protection.

I will no longer be pre-ordering any other EA game; because fundamentally I don't trust them to "not be evil". I want to know what hoops I'll need to jump through in order to install/play a game before I buy it.

I may eventually get around to buying the game, but I'll be waiting until at least a month after release to see what's involved and whether or not it actually works.

The "upgrades" it referes to is simular to Windows "Upgrade policy" - Only BIG upgrades count, ie: MOBO and some HD's Ram and Chips shoultn't count...

I'll pass on Spore and Mass Effect and any other game that has SecuROM DRM.

Definetly, without a question

However, all this talk of SecuROM is worrying me. I have most of the Sims 2 games and I had no idea about the 3-strike reinstilation system. Our computer dosnt seem to ever need updating to the extent of reinstalling everything.

I will get the game, but you guys gave me a tad of a nervous breakdown...guhee...ha ha, hahahahaha....heh...

I'll get it, though I'm afraid to be disappointed. There are so many promises, and they're so hard to implement... The last experience of SimCity Societies was quite bad for me, so I'm not sure how long I'll stay with Spore when I'll get it. But still I'll get it - just to try... and write a review on gaming website (sorry, it's in Russian :P )

Whilt the Creature Creator gives me some hope, as I like it. =))
