Default Being banned..

Right, when you get banned your Spore account gets disabled for a set amount of time.

Three things wrong with this:

1) You don't get told HOW long in the e-mail

2) And you can't log in to the website to delete the offensive creation.

3) You don't get a say in the matter as to whether you deserve to be banned or not, you just get banned instantly. You get no warning, no chance to edit or delete the offensive creation... You just get a black mark on your account, disabled the account and prevented from fixing the problem.

Before you say "DO IT USING THE APPLICATION THEN", I can't, the laptop is dead. I'm having to use the PC which can barely run Flash games. I've been inactive for two months and I created it back in May and I get banned NOW?!

I mean, what the hell? I can't even LOG IN to the website to delete the only "Vulgar" creation I have because my login details have been disabled. Yeah, that's an effective punishment that, well done EA, prevent me from redeeming myself.

Instead of banning us instantly for creations we don't remember creating, you should warn us via E-mail telling us which creations are deemed offensive in your eyes then give us about 3 days to delete it.

I've been banned twice now for creating creatures deemed "Vulgar" I don't even remember creating. It's getting ridiculous!

Who decides that a person should be banned anyway?

Maxis can ban a creation and if any Spore player has an objection they can ban too. I agree with what LordHeinz said, and also add that people are offended to easily these days. Even if something is offensive, that creation should just be marked as offensive to warn people. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however wrong it is.

Or Maxis could just delete that creation their self.....

Agreed with everything above.

I've been banned before. The reasons seemed pretty fair, but myself and all of my friends found it was extreamly out of order. My reasons for getting banned were for posting a normal creation (a face and a simple name). The description mentioned what another user said to me. I censored the worst of it, while the comment itself the user sent me was incredibly offensive. While I censored mine, I believe I appologised in the description too, I got banned for it.

I got banned for alerting the community about an extreamly foul-mouthed user -__- unfair.

So...You believe that its OK to offend people as long as you're allowed to fix it when ever you want? How about checking your moral compass before you post.

So you believe that no one should be given the chance to redeem themselves or appologise if they do something wrong or make a mistake? All I can say is: Thank goodness you're not in charge of the country!!!!

It's better to give users a chance, unless they are genuinely breaking the rules.

I would have liked a chance to change the description on my creation.

And I know an incredibly famous creator, Hydro_Glyph, was banned by mistake!! Apparently, not only when you report someone, they get banned for it. It wasn't until several creators (that I saw) demanded Hydro to be unbanned.

Did you miss the part about "twice"?

And you're right. You are glad that I'm not running the country.

Well seeing as we cannot judge these creations for ourselves we cannot be 100% certain that they were 'vulgar'. And what is to say that LordHeinz wasn't the victim of a malicious campaign by someone?
And as for forgetting things you've created, I've had Spore since it was first released. I've created over 2000 things, not all of them shared, and I can't remember everything I've created.
Why not learn to give people the benifit of the doubt. Ok LordHeinz might have deliberately done wrong, but judging from his protest, and his desire to redeem himself, I think that he did not do anything to deliberately offend anyone. In fact he seems to be genuinely upset that this has happened to him.
My advice to those who might find something offensive: DON'T LOOK AT IT!

Another point- there's a lot of extreamly sensitive people on Spore. Someone made a Human called "lalalala Erectus", that's the scientific name for the lalalalanid. I've made creatures called "Tigris Erectus", although they all have underwear on, I've had to explain myself as to prevent people flaming me for innapropriate creations >_<

And, there's a lot of innocent people out there. All cultures and such are different, as well as opinions. What one person may seem as normal, another shall find offensive and report them. The innocent person is thus banned for a creation they thought was suitable.

Also, apparently Spore is also about creativity and the right for a creator to express themself; apparently not. Features like lalalalala's and breasts is biology, sex and love is expressive. But only when it is well made and thought out, not just giving a creation a giant wang and posting it for kids to see. Racism has a right to be banned, vulgar language too, depending on what the purpose of it is.

I could go on. Point is, not everything is insulting. EA and Maxis need to give users a chance to explain or redeem themselves.

EDIT: Ok, so lalalalanis is censored, but Erectus isnt?

Fail. Hope you all know what I mean - the scientific name for Humans?

In addition to what you just said, I made a creation called "Fat man" and "80's dude".
Both had "Nurples" for nipples, nothing else, yet they were in the list of 17 creatures that I had to delete.

Makes you wonder what the point of being expressive is, doesn't it?
